· Club financials are currently being externally audited in preparation for the AGM.
Massive thank you to our Treasurer (Sharee) for getting this all organised and for finding a reasonably priced auditor which was a job in itself!
· Ongoing discussions with City of Tea Tree Gully about possible ground improvements at Hargrave Reserve.
· The club website (RevSport) is being redeveloped and will have a whole new look leading into the next season – stay tuned!
· Options being looked at for new club playing shirt design will cover Indigenous and pink round for future seasons - think 2 shirts for the price of 1!
It has been a number of years since the club had a pink round shirt available for purchase and we have not previously had an Indigenous round shirt (other CDSA clubs are now starting to design their own club ones).
Purchase of these tops will be optional but as always, we would like to keep costs as low as possible.
· Club equipment has been returned and will be audited and checked. Any defective or damaged items will be replaced with the grant funds secured last season.
· End of Season Survey closed on 18 May and received 32 responses were received.
With such a large volume of information and feedback received, it was a mammoth job to group the information for review by the Survey Action Group.
For those wondering, the Survey Action Group includes players invited from each of our club teams to ensure that each team has a voice!
Once the results were complied and reviewed individually, those available in the group met on Monday 2 June to collectively go through the results together and discuss the feedback and outcomes.
The next step will be for a report will be tabled to the club committee for consideration and action before the next season commences. A high-level report will also be shared with club members in due course.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey and provide honest and constructive feedback for consideration. The club can only run better when there is more involvement and communication with its members, and we look forward in continuing the club survey initiative in future seasons.
· Congratulations to all the Valley View Eagles players who participated in the recent Masters competition held in Berri (June long weekend). Despite the horrendous cold and wet conditions, we hear that it was a great time out with lots of fun and memories made.
In our club colours, the senior womens team (Jacqui, Kim, Deb, Judith, Tracey C., Cheryl, Lisa, Kerryn, Lyndal, Krystal, Brenda, Lee, Hayley, Chantelle, Tracey R, Sharon) finished 5th overall with some very strong teams and some tough games.
Our Eagles mens players (Kizza, Ben, Troy and Scott) represented the Riverland team and were fortunate to win the Division 1 grand final. How awesome!
In addition, a special shoutout to long-time supporter and proud parent Allan Humphrys, who made an incredible return to the diamond after 17 years!
A very special thank you to Cathy Gregory who also donned the blue and umpired the weekend as well.
· Shout out to our junior players Darian, Winter and Kiera who were featured in an online Advertiser article written by Taylor Mason documenting up-and-coming junior softball players throughout SA!
Whilst these players got a special mention, we are so proud of all our juniors and their achievements. It was also nice to see Softball have a highlight feature in the newspapers like this, we never thought we’d see the day!!
· Request for coaching applications is now open for Season 2025-26. This year we have an online application form which has all the information required for anyone interested.
· Annual General Meeting will be held on from 7pm 23 June at The Grove (private function room).
Our club is always seeking new voices and encouraging people to come along and see what we do.
For those who have never been to a club AGM before, we have developed a AGM FAQ sheet that might help answer any burning questions.
