Event Waiver

Vaucluse Amateur 12ft. Sailing Club

Global Waiver, Release of Liability, and Acknowledgement of Risk

Applicable to Sailing and Social Events

IMPORTANT NOTICE

This waiver is issued jointly by the Vaucluse Amateur 12ft. Sailing Club (“VA12SC”) and Roads & Maritime Services (“RMS”) pursuant to the Civil Liability Act 2002. It applies to all individuals participating in sailing and social activities conducted, organized, or endorsed by the VA12SC.

RISK WARNING

Sailing and social activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

For sailing: extreme weather, collisions, equipment failure, falling overboard, limited access to medical care.
For social events: slips, falls, alcohol-related incidents, crowd-related risks, limited emergency response.

Despite reasonable precautions, risks of serious injury, property damage, or death remain. VA12SC maintains third-party liability insurance; this does not extend to individual participants, who should obtain their own insurance if required.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & INDEMNITY

By participating in VA12SC sailing or social activities, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I have read and understood the Risk Warning above.
I participate at my own risk and responsibility.
I release and indemnify the VA12SC, RMS, and all associated personnel from any liability, including negligence.
I understand the VA12SC is not responsible for the condition of any vessel or equipment.
I understand that VA12SC may restrict participation, particularly for junior members.
I consent to the use of my contact details and images as outlined in the VA12SC policy.

Ticking the boxes in this section constitutes agreement to this waiver. If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must complete the acknowledgement on their behalf.
