This course is conducted to assist club members who wish to Grade to Senior Green or Blue belt or later in the year to Brown. It will cover the techniques required to grade that we don't get a chance to cover in our regular classes.
6.5 SENIOR KYU GRADES CRITERIA Judo Australia
*Time in grade for each belt is a minimum of 12 months under the Knowledge only pathway, 9 months under a Knowledge with Service pathway and 6 months under a Contest pathway.
Section 11 provides candidates with a complete overview of the techniques for each grade below:
Yellow
5th Kyu Go Kyu
Basic understandings of Judo fundamentals – posture, movement, breaking balance and terminology.
1st Kyo of Gokyo
2 Hold Downs
1 Armlock
1 Strangle
Breakfalls
Belt Tie
Knowledge
Regular training
Orange 4th Kyu Yon Kyu Improved break falls, increasing knowledge of techniques. Able to display techniques with correct unbalancing, control and speed.

Contest rules – basic understanding
Green 3rd Kyu San Kyu
Minimum 15 yrs
Increasing skill level of technique demonstration, including right & left sides.

Blue 2nd Kyu Ni Kyu
