From the President

I want to start this newsletter with a ginormous Thank You to all of you who have re-registered for the 2026 season, and extend an extra welcome to all of our new Uni Juniors club members. For many of you who signed up with us for the first time this year: Welcome! I think you’ve found a great club and I’m excited to get to meet you all as training gets under way in a few weeks time.

I also have the pleasure of announcing the WINNER of the Brabo Elite Stickbag. Our lucky member is Benjamin Jeffery(new to our U12 boys team!). Congratulations, we’ll be in touch to get that prize delivered to you as soon as possible Ben!

Excitingly, our 2026 team nominations have been submitted and teams are all but finalised. We still have space for more U10 girls! If you’ve been holding off registering in that age group please do so now so we can have a full team and maybe even some subs! Register here

One final thing: Don’t forget to join our Uni Juniors Hockey Club Facebook Group and follow our Instagram account. Important messages will always come via email but sometimes we’re quicker to get messages out via our socials.

Indoor wrap-up

What a fantastic indoor season we had, with 7 teams competing, 3 making Grand Finals, and our Supers Girls being crowned 2026 Premiers! Congratulations and well done to Andrew, Fi and all the girls. Bravo!

Our U12 and JIL3 girls also fought fiercely in their grand finals, with JIL3 going down just 2-1 and narrowly missing out on the premiership after finishing the season minor premiers, and U12 girls battling bravely but ultimately being defeated also.

Outdoor season - training times

Our teams are in the process of being finalised and the Carter field is looking closer to completion every day. We can’t start training until it’s done, but we’re expecting that to be by Week 1 of Term 2 (20 April). If we end up ahead of schedule you’ll be the first to know! Games will start on the weekend of 1 May, with Hookin2Hockey following on 7 May.

Sponsorship Opportunities

We are looking to build our partnerships with local businesses and grow our sponsorship base to support the club to continue to provide accessible pathways to team sport. If you work with or have connections to a business that might be a good fit for a community and youth-focused hockey club like Uni Juniors, please get in touch via email to president.ujhc@gmail.com

Sponsorship packages start from $250 and we are keen to work with sponsors to develop partnership arrangements that best meet their needs and support our club.
