Has Sydney been a bit too rainy for you lately? Have you been thinking to yourself… “Wow I’d really love to venture down to the South Coast with some fun people.” If this sounds like you, then you’re in luck. We are heading to BATEMANS BAY for a few days of diving, relaxing, and exploring the beautiful South Coast this JUNE LONG WEEKEND.

We’ll be diving in the Batemans Bay Marine Park, a stunning stretch of underwater terrain featuring reefs, caves, and calm waters. Key dive sites include the Tollgate Islands (a critical habitat for the Grey Nurse Shark), Black Rock, and Burrewarra Point. Expect cuttlefish, nudibranchs, kelp forests, octopus, and a bubble cave (huge if true) —plus, who knows, maybe a surprise seal cameo from Montague Island.

After diving, we’ll unwind at a beach house we’ve booked just for the group—perfect for shared meals, beach hangs, and some solid post-dive chilling.

If you are uncomfortable sharing a house and possible a room with people you don’t know, this trip is unfortunately not for you.

|| COST ||

$180 – includes 3 nights’ accommodation; meals Saturday, Sunday, Monday (breakfast only) and drinks for the party night! (Drinks will be provided; however, those with more discerning tastes are welcome to BYO).

 

|| DIVING ||

$30 per boat dive (1/3rd of the cost of commercial operators). We are planning for 2 days diving (Sat, Sun), 2 boat dives/day each (weather permitting) at a variety of dive sites.

 

YOU WILL NEED TWO TANKS FOR THIS TRIP AIR HORNS AIR HORNS AIR HORNS. THEY WILL BOTH NEED TO BE FULL ON ARRIVAL.

 

Air fills at local dive shops and approx. ~$10. And free shore dives if you’re still craving time underwater! Guerrilla Bay and Broulee Bubble Cave are both super close to where we are staying. In order to participate in the organised dives, you will need to show us your SCUBA certification card and be competent and confident in your swimming abilities. You should have dived within the past 12 months and be comfortable to dive in a buddy pair without a dive guide (we’re not a commercial dive shop).

 

|| GEAR ||

You are responsible for organising your own gear. BCDs, tanks, regulators, wetsuits, masks, fins, and weights are all available to hire from the club through our gear hire portal - https://www.revolutionise.com.au/underwaterclub/gear-hire-. You will need to book, collect, clean, dry, and return any hired club gear.

 

|| GETTING THERE ||

Batemans Bay is scenic 4-hour drive South of Sydney. As it is a long weekend, we recommend travelling outside of peak times so a 4-hour drive doesn’t become 8.

Everyone is responsible for organising their own transport (including dive gear).

 

|| BOOKING ||

Tickets go on sale 7:00pm Thursday, 22^nd May 2025. You will need to be a paid 2025 member to register. Please note that the number of attendees on this trip are limited so be quick to register (we suggest setting a reminder on your phone). A waitlist will be opened at 7:10pm on Thursday, 22^nd May 2025 for those that miss out in case of cancellations.
