17 club members are currently enjoying the wonderful hospitality of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, taking part in the annual Eden Marine High School excursion to Sydney. This experience occurs because of a long tradition in our local community of assisting retirees from the Rolex Sydney to Hobart race, and of course the generosity of the CYCA. After a rough race in 1993 the CYCA wanted to say thank you to the Eden community and asked EMHS if they would like to bring a group of students to Sydney for a week at their newly formed Yourh Academy.
For 32 years students from EMHS have had the opportunity to be part of the annual excursion, sailing at the CYCA Youth Academy on Elliott 7's, sleeping on yachts and taking part in Twilight Racing on the big boats. How lucky are our kids!!
