The RPAYC Discover Sailing Centre and Training Academy is pleased to welcome 'Expressions of Interest' for our 2026 Youth Development (YD) Squad Program.

The RPAYC Youth Development (YD) Squad Program is open to RPAYC Youth Members (new Members are welcome), aged between 16 and 25, who can demonstrate advanced keelboat sailing skills, and a thorough understanding of fleet racing and the Racing Rules of Sailing.

This program will include multiple on and off-water training sessions, focusing on improving existing sailing skills in fleet racing one-design disciplines, and introduction to Match Racing development.

There is a strong focus on building core teamwork dynamics and advanced sail trim techniques.

Additionly, program participants may be offered opportunities to represent the Club at regattas both within Australia and Internationally.

Applications 'must be made' using the applicant's Australian Sailing Number, not the number of a Parent or Gaurdian.

Upon closure of the Expression of Interest period on Friday 27 March 2026, successful applicants will be invited to register for the program.

Program Focus:

The Advanced Fleet Program is designed to enable participants to train to compete.

The coaching is regular, with extended personal commitment, plus commitment to club and class association racing or competition.
