RPAYC Keelboat Spinnakers Course

The RPAYC Discover Sailing Centre is pleased to welcome participants to our Keelboat Spinnakers Course for October 2024. This course will include six sessions, conducted over the days as listed. All session times are 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Training will be conducted on the Club's fleet of Elliott 7 Keelboats.

The RPAYC Discover Sailing Centre abides by the Australian Sailing Instructor/Student ratios, hence places are strictly limited. All courses are subject to change with limited notice, based on demand and availability. To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering early.

Registration
There are two registration fee categories available for this Course:

• $745.00* - RPAYC Members
• $820.00 - Non Members

*To be eligible for the 'Member Discounted Fee', the participating 'Member' is required to be financial for the 2022 / 23 Membership Season (through until 30th April).

The fee for this course includes the digital version of the Australian Sailing Introductory Keelboat Text Book and Log Book.  

**For an additional $45 you can select to add an RPAYC course pack which includes a printed copy of the Australian Sailing Introductory Keelboat Text Book and Log Book in a waterproof satchel, with a length of rope for you to practice your knots! Just select to add the sailing pack at time of payment. This is the same course pack as you may have recieved with your Start Crewing or Start Helming course.

Course Overview

This courses introduces you to the fun and challenge of using an asymmetrical and/or a symmetrical spinnaker.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and the skills, knowledge and experience gained in at least the Start Crewing and Start Helming courses.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have grasped fundamental sailing skills and want to learn how to use spinnakers; asymmetrical and/or symmetrical. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Spinnakers completion certificate.
