Course Overview
A taste of sailing for those thinking about participating in the Teenager/Adult Learn to Sail Program or looking to experience sailing for the first time. Participants learn some basic sailing skills equivalent to the first session of Start Sailing 1. For those interested in progressing their skills, we offer the opportunity to continue with the full Start Sailing 1 course. All you have to do is pay the difference!

- Water confident
- Over 13 years old

The program is aimed at Teenagers and Adults.
Course Outcome
The goal of this session is to get participants comfortable sailing in 2-3 person sailing dinghies and introduce basic sailing concepts. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Tack (push-turn)
- Launch & retrieve from shore under close instruction
- Reach around a figure-8 course
- Follow the leader
And, participants will have an awareness of:
- Safety
- Rigging
- Capsizing
- Future Participation
