The course begins at 9am in the Clubhouse at 7 Park Street Launceston for the theory component. The afternoon is reserved for the practical component of the course. To secure a booking in a particular course, the completed enrolment form needs to be returned to the office in Park Street, or by email to office@tyc.asn.au. Payment is also required in advance of the course date.
What can I study prior to the course?
MAST (Marine and Safety Tasmania) produce the Tasmanian Safe Boating Handbook. The questions for the theory exam are based on this booklet. This booklet is available from Service Tasmania, Tamar Yacht Club or it can be downloaded from the following link:
MAST also provides the option of completing an online practice test. The practice test is anonymous and has no affect on your future assessment. Questions on the practice test may differ from the course exam. https://mast.tas.gov.au/licensing/practice-test/
What happens after the course is completed?
