Stingers January Newletter: Lets Beach Off
 

Whats On:

Stingers Beach 4’s 

Beach 4’s is back on Saturday 17th February. This quick and easy version of the game (aptly held at Manly Cove) will be a great day to cool off in the water during this festive season! We are hosting 2 divisions, recreational and competitive, and players can choose from the following options:

• Form their own team (4 minimum, up to 8 people maximum) - $400 for the team entry. 
• $70 individual entry fee and we will place you in a team.

Tickets can be purchased through RevSport up until Wednesday 14th February. Please have a look at the rules for the game before the day or reach out to Kayla or Josh if you have any questions or can volunteer to help out on the day. 

Bootylympics

The Bootylympics for our current group of booties is coming up on Sunday the 4th of February and we need your help! We’re calling Stingers members to volunteer as team members and mentors, to

referee and to do table duty. This Bootylympics will also have a special theme... Paris Olympics! Click on this link for more information and to fill out the form if you’d like to help out and have a great afternoon of water polo!

Melbourne Grudge Match

Sign up here if you're planning on heading down to Australia’s 2nd best city for the Grudge Match on 10th February. Midsumma events are on Sunday 11th. 

IGLA 2024 Buenos Aires Expression of Interest

Next years IGLA will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina during the country's Gay Pride Celebrations. Events will be held on 5 - 9th November, with planning for the Stingers Tour happening now. Our resident travel guru Alex Lau recommends trying to lock in flights by the end of January to get the best sort of price you can. Please fill in this form if you're thinking about attending.

Whats Happened:

End of Year Awards Night

Just last week Stingers descended upon The Colombian for our End of Year Awards. The night was celebrated to highlight our club members achievements and gratitude to the award winners for giving back to the strong Stingers community. Our annual awards honour the members who have gone above and beyond with their dedication to our club, whether it be giving their time and efforts or showing their commitment to improvement. The thoughtfulness, generosity and drive is truly appreciated!

Thank you to Andrew Minutillo for throwing such an amazing party celebration! Stingers are overflowing with gratitude for all the effort and energy you put into making it an unforgettable experience. Your dedication and commitment to making this party a success is truly commendable.

Stingers On Tour

Alan Rickman is scientifically proven to have the perfect voice. Linguist Andrew Linn, of Sheffield University, and sound engineer Shannon Harris worked out a formula based on the combination of tone, speed, frequency, words per minute and intonation. And yes, this cowboy did watch the disarming-elegant-christmas-movie Die Hard when writing this up since I have run out of waterpolo related fun facts. Yippee Kai-Yay Mother-Fuckers.
