Welcome our new MPIO’s

We’ve expanded our Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) role into a team of three amazing individuals. They’re here to listen and support you with any concerns, complaints, or conflicts related to Water Polo.

Importantly, they operate independently from our executive team to ensure your privacy and confidentiality are respected.

You can speak to them on the pool deck or, if you prefer, reach out via email at mpio@sydneystingers.org.au.

Aussies at World Aquatics Championships

The Aussie Stingers and Sharks finished up 6th and 13th at the recent World Aquatics Championships held in Singapore. Both teams have broken in some newbies giving them a taste of elite competition at the world stage.

Summer EOIs are now open. We have STRICT and EARLY deadlines to meet with WPNSW so the surveys will close on 25th August. If you're unsure, fill it out anyways, or talk with Dyl or coaches.

What’s On:

AGM and Exec Roles

We will soon announce our date for the AGM with three of our Executive Committee roles up for election. These are big-picture leadership positions that shape how the club runs, supports our members, and grows over time. Roles that are up for re-nomination:

Vice President (2-year term, 2-4 hrs per week on average)

Sydney Stingers - Vice President Roles and Responsibilities

Secretary (2-year term, 2-4 hrs per week on average)
Sydney Stingers - Secretary Roles and Responsibilities

Treasurer (2-year term, 2-4 hrs per week on average)
Sydney Stingers - Treasurer Roles and Responsibilities

Membership Year Rollover

The membership year will be finishing up at the end of this month. Further comms will be sent out soon for the new membership year.

Mardi Gras Application

The 2026 Mardi Gras application will be opening soon, if any opinionated mozzies in the members stand want to take the field please contact Fletch.

Rainbow Grudge Match - Perth Edition

Prep for pride by going west - Perth White Pointers are hosting the next Rainbow Grudge Match on Saturday 22nd November. Why not stay a few days? Sunday 23rd is Fair Day and march in the Pride Parade on 29th November. Potentially featuring Margaret River wine tours and day trip to Rotto, fill out this EOI form if you're keen for any part of the trip.

6x150m Free - 100 easy, 50 hard - 30sec rest.

Notes:

• Adjust the times to suit you, but still aim to push yourself. Suggestions:
  • A bit easier: add 5 to 10s on the suggested times per 50m.
  • A bit harder: minus 5 to 10s on the suggested times per 50m or add 2 more distance intervals (e.g where it says 6x100m do 8 of them.)
• 50m Pool: add 5sec per 50m
