The Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project (SVSP) welcomes current and former serving veterans, their families, and non-veteran supporters. Whether you're joining us on the water or backing us from the shore, you're part of something meaningful.

Fun Facts

• Our events, training, and charitable purpose are specifically designed for veterans and their families. Non-veteran supporters are warmly welcomed as volunteers.

• Yes, there are free participation options, but becoming a Supporter Member helps sustain what we all enjoy and strengthens our charitable mission.

Supporters' Crew – Membership Options

You sail with us and support what you enjoy! Includes:

  • Australian Sailing Number & Insurance

  • Option to add dependents or make an additional donation

💛 The Regional Supporter – $25

You live outside our regular sailing hubs but still want to back SVSP—legendary!

  • We’ll assist you with your Australian Sailing registration

  • Helps you #represent and pursue your sailing journey wherever you are

To qualify:

  • Must be under 18 at renewal OR

Funded Offerings

SailPass – Fully Funded / $0.00

A temporary membership to help veterans and their families try a social sailing day—no cost. After your first sail, we hope you’ll continue as a Supporter or contribute a small donation.

Instructors & Coaches – Fully Funded / $0.00

For Australian Sailing-qualified instructors and coaches who actively support our mission.

  • We cover your Australian Sailing Number & Insurance as in-kind recognition.

Overlapping Community / Members of Other Organisations – Fully Funded / $0.00

If you’re already financially supporting another sailing organisation for veterans (e.g., Sailing On, Resilience Sailing, Sailability), or an overseas veteran sailing group like Warrior Sailing, Valhalla Sailing, or California Inclusive Sailing, we don’t expect you to pay twice.

  • Join us as a representative of your crew.

Financial Hardship – Fully Funded / $0.00

If finances are a barrier, please let us know. We will discreetly sponsor or fund your participation—because access should never be out of reach.

SVSP is a registered ACNC charity—all donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
