The Sunshine Coast Hockey Association invites secondary schools to take part in the 2026 Ballinger Cup Secondary School Hockey Tournament.
 
This school-based tournament provides students with an opportunity to represent their school, demonstrate their hockey skills, and compete in a positive and enjoyable environment.
 
Two playing divisions will be offered to support both experienced hockey players and students participating in mixed-ability teams.

Date: Friday 16 October 2026
Start time: 9:30 am
Location: Ballinger Sports Fields, Buderim
Age group: 13 to 18 years
Team registration fee: $50
 
Tournament format
 
Games will be played using a modified hockey format with:
  • Six players per side
  • Mixed teams with a minimum of two girls
  • No goalkeeper required
  • A skilled division and a mixed-ability division
  • Students may only represent the school in which they are currently enrolled.
 
Player requirements
All participating students must wear shin pads and a mouthguard while playing. A sports medic will be in attendance throughout the event, and canteen facilities will be available.
