TheSunshine Coast Hockey Association (SCHA) is excited to offer an opportunity for our coaches to take the next step in their development through the Foundation Lead Coaching Course (formerly Level 1).
Even better, this course will be delivered by two highly respected and experienced coaches: 👉Ash Wallis (Fey) 👉Greg Richards
This is a fantastic chance to learn from some of the best, build your confidence as a coach, and take your coaching to the next level.

Enrolling in the Foundation Lead Coaching Course
Step 1 – Access Your HockeyEd Account
Log in via the Hockey Queensland website.
Access or activate your HockeyEd account (refer to the previously distributed HockeyEd setup guide).
Once logged in, you will be redirected to the Hockey Australia HockeyEd platform.
Step 2 – Complete the Foundation Support Coach Course
Select Training Library from the left-hand menu.
Click View Courses.
Enroll in and complete the Foundation Support Coach Course (Free of Charge).
Step 3 – Enrol in the Foundation Lead Coach Course
Return to the course library.
Purchase and complete the Foundation Lead Coach Course.
Course Cost: $110
Step 4 – Register for the Practical Workshop
Return to the HockeyEd homepage.
Select Training Events.
Complete any required Sport Integrity or Safe Hockey declarations.
Navigate to June 2026 on the event calendar.
Locate Sunshine Coast Foundation Lead Coaching Course – 21 June 2026.
Select the event and click Enroll.
What to Bring
Please bring the following items:
Hockey stick
Water bottle
Sunscreen and hat
Notebook and pen or electronic device for note-taking
Lunch and snacks
Any personal items required for the day
Optional:
Mouthguard
Shin guards
Practical Component
If turf access is available, practical activities will be conducted on the turf and the course will run from approximately 8:00am to 3:30pm, or earlier if all requirements are completed.
Some practical activities may be conducted on grass if turf access is unavailable.
Where possible, coaches who are actively coaching on the day may be able to use part of their coaching session as evidence towards the practical assessment requirements.
All coaches to complete the online components BEFORE attending the practical session to ensure a smooth and productive practical workshop.

This course is the first step toward further coaching development, leading into the Development Lead Coach Accreditation (FIH Level 2).
