About us

We fund sport, arts, community activities, health promotion projects and research to inspire Western Australians, especially young people, to live healthier lives.

We work with local organisations we fund to create healthy activities and events and promote messages about good health you see in the community throughout Western Australia.

Corporate Executive

Our day to day leadership and direction is provided by our CEO Colin Smith and A/Executive Director Joanne Graham-Smith.

Mr Smith has extensive experience as a senior executive in government and the private sector, including Tata Group, Bankwest, and Synergy. Before joining Lotterywest and Healthway he was the chief operating officer at the Telethon Kids Institute. Mr Smith brings a broad range of experience in strategy development and execution, organisational culture development, customer service and community engagement, and technology innovation and transformation.

Joanne is an experienced health promotion professional having worked in various roles across the government, non-government and research sectors over the last twenty years. Her experience spans the areas of child health promotion research, contract and program management, funding and strategic policy. 

Joanne commenced at Healthway in 2009 and has been the Manager Policy and Research since 2020, responsible for the health promotion and research programs and teams. She has a strong commitment to Healthway and improving the health and wellbeing of the population.

We are an organisation which really makes a difference. Our work touches all Western Australians in their lifetimes through the opportunities and value we contribute to the community.
