What an amazing couple of weeks for the Australian Spirits Hockey (ASH or Spirits) teams playing in the World Masters Hockey European Championships?!

4 teams competed in the Spirit of Masters competitions in Nottingham - 55, 60, 65 and 70 supported by committed off field teams, a happy band of dedicated supporters from Australia (and elsewhere) and our sponsors who assisted with travel, sports items, and a myriad of other ways.  

The Spirits finished very successfully with 3 Gold medals and 1 Silver and claimed the top Goal Scorers in the 65 and 70 divisions, but it was not just about winning.  The second part of our mission statement is now a reality - “to build a hockey community Spirit through unforgettable experiences that promote physical and mental wellbeing and celebrate women’s masters achievements”.

The Spirits Song “I am Australian” was an integral part of the Meet & Greet evening and across the next 10 days could be heard loud and clear across the grounds during the tournament and was included as the Spirits ‘anthem’ before the finals matches.  https://www.facebook.com/reel/1672208883494882.  We are so united by this song!
