World Masters Hockey (WMH) offers Continental Championship, Spirit of Masters (SoM) competitions for affiliated members e.g. Australian Spirits Hockey (ASH), Southern Cross, Alliance, LX England. ASH teams may compete in a stand alone SoM competition or at the discretion of WMH may participate in a combined competition consisting of nationally selected teams and SoM teams. Where more than one SoM team competes in an age group, teams will play for a medal.
Australian Spirits Hockey (ASH) is calling for women's masters player expressions of interest for Spirit of Masters teams to compete at WMH Asian Championships for 2027.
No fee is being charged as this will be the first ever teams offered by Australian Spirits in the 35+ or 40+ age group and the committee need to be sure that there are sufficient EOIs for teams to be formed.
Player eligibility 35+ (born 1988-1992), 40+ (1983-1987 or earlier). Players who are 45+ or 50+ may also nominate if they are willing to play in a 35+ or 40+ team.
Expressions of Interest will close on Monday 14 September 2026 and selections will be made in accordance with the Spirits Selection Policy on our Policies & Procedures webpage. If there are sufficient player numbers for teams to be viable and you are selected, a $50 Acceptance fee will be due and payable as per below.

Australian Spirits Tour Levy is expected to be $1,000 and includes: Off Field Team costs, World Masters Team Entry fees, Travelcall fees, Team culture and training, and potentially ground transport. For more please refer to our Touring Guide – link below.

Current and past Australian Player Eligibility
Each Australian Spirits team may include an unlimited number of players who are selected in the 2027 Trans Tasman Challenge teams and a maximum of 5 players who represented in Australian teams (not Australia 2 teams) in 2026 World Cup.
