PLEASE NOTE - SPASC is a volunteer run organisation with our membership providing their time and effort to keep our club thriving. As a club participant it is a requirement of membership that you will be occasionally able to assist with running aspects of the club. This may include assisting boats into and out of the water, assisting set up and/or pack up and cleaning of boats after use, care of club equipment, cleaning the clubhouse and surrounds, assisting in the canteen, bar (with RSA) or on the bbq, volunteering at fundraising events and offering other general assistance in running the club as you may be able to. We need your involvement!

If you have been a member of our club (or any club) across Australia in the past few years, your details (including Australian Sailing Number) should be in our system. If you don't know your Australian Sailing Number, you can look it up here: AS Number Finder
SailPass Introductory Membership
Securing an Australian Sailing SailPass through Speers Point Amateur Sailing Club (SPASC), gives you the opportunity to try sailing over the 3 days you have selected, plus it allows you to get the feel for a club before becoming a club member.
SailPass is a flexible pass that allows you to discover sailing in a fun and affordable way. It is a fantastic way to have a great day out and learn new skills with your friends, family or work colleagues, while enjoying the lifestyle and amazing locations provided by SPASC.
Just scroll to the bottom of this page and click on "RETURNING MEMBER" if you have an Australian Sailing number or "NEW MEMBER" if you have never registered for sailing before, and follow the steps to secure a SPASC SailPass.
Member Types and Costs / Notes
- Senior $220
- Family $385 – maximum 2 adults plus children (under 18), must be cohabiting, not extended family.
The first family member should register as "Family Adult 1" who will be invoiced the family membership fee, then please register other family members as "Family Adult 2", "Family Membership - Child 1" etc. who will be invoiced $0. - Junior $110 (Junior members need to be under 18 years old). In the second half of the season after 31st Jan Junior membership costs $55 for sailors joining the club late to fill an unexpected vacancy.
- Junior Sailing Program participants must have SPASC Junior or Family membership, plus you also need to register via the Events Calendar for the relevant SPASC's Junior Sailing Program course; to find out more please click HERE
- Note: Family and Junior Members may use Active Kids Vouchers - please provide your Active Kids Voucher Number on the application form, but do not pay the invoice online - the voucher will be applied and a new invoice will be emailed to you.
- Student $110 (Full-Time) need to be under 26 years old, as of 1 October of the current sailing season with current sducation enrolment
- Adult Learn to Sail course senior participants are required to pay a half-year membership of $110 to cover personal injury insurance via an AS number for the term of their tuition. If they desire to keep sailing in the second half of the season they will need to pay the additional cost to make up a full seasons membership ($220)
- Twilight Sailing Only Membership $110. This requires proof of full financial and active membership at another club. If you are not a full and active member at another club twilight sailing requires full SPASC club membership at $220 per season.

- Club Volunteer membership $10
- Social Membership $22
Applications made via this portal will be submitted for approval to the club Committee. If the application is unsuccessful, any membership fees paid will be refunded.

Boat Owners
- Each boat owner must register and pay membership fees for a skipper and is responsible for ensuring crew(s) pay their fee.
- Select "Race Fees (Annual) $220.00" to pay the full Sailing Season Race entry fee - includes Pointscore, Club Championships & SPASC Regattas (incl Marathon & Anzac Day Regattas). Juniors pay $110 for the full sailing season race entry fee. Gold fleet race fees are included in their course registration cost, which includes coaching.
- All sailing members must complete the BOAT section and note additional cost to store boats on trailers - we encourage members to store boats on stackable dollys where this will increase our storage capacity.
- All boats raced at SPASC must carry appropriate insurance. Uninsured boats will not be able to sail at the club.

NOTE: A boat which is stored in the Clubhouse is stored at the member’s own risk and must race regularly during the sailing season (at least monthly), otherwise the Committee will request that the boat be removed (and a partial refund of storage fees given) or refuse storage next season. The Registrar and/or Clubhouse Manager will allocate storage space as seen fit, and boats must not be moved to another location without prior authorisation from the Registrar and/or Clubhouse Manager.
