Our Junior Sail Training Green Fleet 2 (Green Fleet Coaching) Program is designed for kids aged 8 to 17 years who have completed the Australian Sailing 4 - Start Sailing 2 Program.

Green Fleet 2 sailors will cement the foundation skills learned in Green Fleet 1 and are prepared for club racing in an environment where the focus is on fun and enjoyment.   Syllabus includes classroom learning, cruising to a destination, sailing exercises, sailing adventure games and club racing.

Current sailing classes in our Green Fleet are Optimists and O’pen Skiffs.  All the equipment, including the boats, is provided for Green Fleet Level 2 and Club boats can be chartered for use.

Eligible persons must be either SPASC Family or Junior members

The Junior Sailing Program Fee is payable via this online registration and  must be completed prior to attending the program.  The following costs, which include the $150.00 registration fee are:

• $150.00 per sailing season per person where a member owns a suitable boat;
• $100.00 additional fee per sailing season per person where a member requires a club boat

Program Focus:

Following the structure and instruction in learn-to-sail programs. Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.

During the Program sailors are encouraged to take part in freesail activity, and to trial a variety of boats, boards, and other club related activity through age appropriate design.
