Course information
Thank you for joining us in the recent Learn to sail course.
We hope you enjoyed your time with us.
From here we go through a feedback process, once complete, you will receive an email with some suggestions and guidance for what the next step is.
If the coaches believe that the sailors are ready for the next challenge, they will be invited to join one of our regular training fleets to start learning new skills. You will receive all of the required information in the invitation for this step.
If the coaches believe the sailor would benefit from going over the skills again to build confidence or reinforce learning, we will invite you back to repeat the course before moving up.
Repeating can be common with younger sailors or those less confident. There are a lot of skills covered and (like all of us) sometimes the chance to try something a second time is all you need for things to click and for you to feel ready to progress.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Overview
OutThere Sailing 1 is a great introduction to the sport of sailing and the skills required but will still focus on fun with friends. The program provides a wide variety of on water activities that will introduce sailing and, depending on your club, an opportunity to experience stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing and power boating. You will learn skills through exciting exercises and put them to good use in fun, on-water activities.
Prerequisites
Water confident.
Who should do this program?
This program is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with others whilst sailing.
