Welcome to Somerville Water Polo!

The Somerville House Water Polo program, led by a team of highly experienced coaches with State, National and International Water Polo experience is a competitive program that offers students from Years 4 to 12 the opportunity to compete in various competitions run by the Brisbane Water Polo Association Inc. (BWPI), including an inaugural Schoolgirls competition beginning in Term 4, 2023.

Skills and development sessions are offered at the beginning of each season, giving newcomers to the sport the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of Water Polo in an encouraging environment. Whilst our program is inclusive to students of all ability levels, student success in Water Polo is evident, with many of our students being selected to represent Queensland and Australia each year.

Water Polo takes place onsite in our Olympic-sized swimming pool, at the Murray Evans Sports and Aquatic Centre. Competitions take place across Term 4 and Term 1 each year, with skills sessions and trials held at the end of Term 3.

WPQ have released the registration fees for the upcoming season, please refer to the attached documents for further details. · Read more
WPQ and Somerville House are providing students with the opportunity to become an accredited umpire. I would highly recommend this opportunity to all of our students, umpiring is a fantastic way to grow your knowledge of the game while also growing your network of contacts for potential opportunities in the future. The BWPI competition pays umpires for their time and are looking to bring more students on for the Term 4 competition. · Read more
