🏸 SPRING WOMEN’S COMPASS CHALLENGE 🏸

Sydney, get ready for the Compass!

Shuttle Swingers is bringing you our final badminton competition of 2026 — the Spring Women’s Compass Challenge!

One Women’s Doubles division, 32 pairs and all levels from A through to E.

The Compass format means you keep playing whether you win or lose. As the competition progresses, wins and losses move you around the Compass towards pairs getting similar results — meaning more evenly matched games, more matches and more court time!

Registration Opens: 10:30am
Start Time: 11:00am sharp

Open to women of all playing levels — A through to E.

Whether you’re an experienced competition player or newer to competitive badminton, there’s a place for you in the Compass.

🌈 WHO CAN PLAY?

The Spring Women’s Compass Challenge is a women-centred competition.

All women and non-binary players who identify with a women-centred space are welcome.

🏆 COMPASS FORMAT — HOW IT WORKS

Everyone starts together in the main East draw.

After each round, your result determines where you move next on the Compass. Win and you remain in your current bracket; lose and you move into another Compass bracket.

As pairs move through the draw, they increasingly play against pairs getting similar results — helping create more evenly matched games as the competition progresses.

The Compass consists of eight divisions:

🏅 North
🏅 North East
🏅 East
🏅 South East
🏅 South
🏅 South West
🏅 West
🏅 North West

Each Compass division ultimately plays for its own placing, while the East winner is the undefeated overall champion.

✨ Minimum 4 matches

⏱ MATCH FORMAT

All matches are 1 game to 30 points.

No setting — first to 30 wins.
Players change ends at 15 points.

• No early elimination
• Minimum 4 matches
• You keep playing whether you win or lose
• More matches and more court time
• Matches become increasingly evenly matched as the competition progresses
• All levels compete within the same Compass — A through to E
• Every match gives you somewhere to go on the Compass

💰 COMPETITION ENTRY

Shuttle Swingers Financial Members: $40 per player
General Entry (not a Shuttle Swinger financial member): $45 per player

Registration is per player, with a maximum of 64 players / 32 pairs.

📣 IMPORTANT

Please listen for your match calls and be ready to play — the competition runs to a tight schedule.

Players are responsible for being ready when their match is called.
