This event is the First EVER Shuttle Masters Tournament organised by the Shuttle Masters Inc. This will be held on Saturday, 25 March 2023, at MSAC, Badminton Hall, Court 9-12 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Contribution      : $5 (since this is our first time!)

Shuttlecocks      : Tournament grade shuttlecocks.

Prize                   : Medals (for winners and 1^st runner-up)

There will be 3 categories in this tournament:

• Men’s Doubles (MD) - divided into MD Division A and MD Division B – 32 players (16 pairs)
• Women’s Doubles (WD) – 16 players (8 pairs)
• Mixed Doubles (XD) – 16 players (8 pairs)

You can opt to play in just category OR two categories (as long as the spots for XD are still available, first come first serve). For example, if you want to play in just MD or WD, that is fine, but you can tick the box to indicate that you want to participate in the XD category too. All you have to pay is $5. No extra fees

Your pair will be picked randomly. You will know your partner a few days before the tournament. Rest assured we will endeavour to balance all the pairings so they are quite equal. We want you all to have good games!

Note for MD category:

Since there is division A (upper grade) and B (lower grade), the organisers retain the right to choose who will go to category A and B. The decisions will depend on the number of registrants and their playing level. For those who have not played with Shuttle Masters before, we will ask you to come to one of our sessions so that we can determine your level. Failure to fulfil this requirement may mean removal from the tournament. Confirmed players of each division will then be matched randomly (while still paying attention to the balance of the strength of all pairings).

Note for XD Category: 
Due to limited slots in XD, not all players indicating that they want to participate in XD will be able to participate. We'll notify you once all the slots are taken.

Summary of tournament rules:

This tournament will be using knock-out tournament system.

A match consist of 2 sets of 21 (with no deuce), if each pair wins one set, the winner of the match shall be determined by points won. If the points won are similar, then a third set of 5 points shall determine the winner. No deuce for the third set, whichever pair reaches 5 points wins.
