Badminton Australia
I acknowledge and agree that:
- I have read, understood and agree to abide by the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy (available on the Sport Integrity Australia website HERE), effective from 1 January 2021. This policy has been adopted by Badminton Australia (BA) and is applicable to all participants in Badminton.
- I have read, understood and agree to abide by BA’s National Integrity Framework policies (available on the BA website, effective from 31st March 2022 and applicable to all participants in Badminton.
- I have read, understood and agree to abide by all BA policies and codes of conduct and also agree to comply with any other policies adopted by BA and advised to me in future available on the Badminton Australia website.
- It is my responsibility to familiarise myself with these policies, including any updates to the policies and other policies as adopted by BA that I am advised of in future.
- A breach of these policies could result in further action being taken, as outlined in the respective policy.
ShuttleCraft Academy
A Code of Conduct sets the standards for behavior and expectations at your academy. It helps create a positive, respectful, and safe environment for everyone involved, from students to coaches and parents. Below is an example of a Code of Conduct that you can use or modify for ShuttleCraft Academy.
ShuttleCraft Academy – Code of Conduct
At ShuttleCraft Academy, we are committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for all of our students, coaches, and staff. This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that everyone at the academy behaves in a respectful, responsible, and safe manner. By following these guidelines, we create an environment where all participants can thrive and enjoy their badminton journey.
1. Respect for All
- Students: Treat fellow players, coaches, and staff with respect at all times, both on and off the court.
- Coaches: Provide encouragement, constructive feedback, and maintain a positive and professional attitude towards all students.
- Parents: Support your child’s development and encourage respectful behavior towards others at all times.
2. Punctuality and Attendance
- Arrive on time for your scheduled training sessions. If you cannot attend, please inform the coach or academy staff in advance.
- Regular attendance is key to progress. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide reasonable notice.
3. Effort and Commitment
- Students should approach every session with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and respect for the training process.
- Always give your best effort during training. Challenges are part of growth, and we encourage persistence and resilience.
- Coaches should provide clear instructions, be attentive to each student's needs, and create an environment where learning is fun and productive.
4. Safety First
- Always ensure that you are using proper equipment and footwear for safety during training.
- Students: Inform your coach if you feel unwell, injured, or unable to participate fully in a session.
- Coaches and staff should ensure the training environment is safe, clean, and appropriate for all students.
5. Behavior
- Zero Tolerance for Bullying: ShuttleCraft Academy has a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying, intimidation, or inappropriate behavior. Everyone is expected to be kind, considerate, and respectful.
- Sportsmanship: Practice good sportsmanship both in training and during any friendly or competitive matches. Celebrate successes with humility and accept challenges with grace.
- Disruptive Behavior: Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Students who disrupt the learning environment may be asked to leave a session.
6. Communication
- Students and Parents should communicate with coaches about any concerns or feedback in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Coaches should keep students and parents informed about progress, upcoming events, and any relevant updates.
- Use positive language, and be open to receiving feedback and suggestions for improvement.
7. Commitment to Personal Growth
- Take responsibility for your own learning and improvement. Always strive to enhance your skills, fitness, and understanding of the game.
- Seek out opportunities for growth, whether that’s through 1-on-1 coaching, extra practice, or asking for advice from your coach.
8. Dress Code
- Wear appropriate sportswear, including comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing and non-marking sports shoes.
- Any safety gear, such as knee or elbow pads, should be worn as required.
9. Respect for Facilities
- Keep the training area clean and organized. Dispose of trash properly and respect the academy’s equipment and facilities.
10. Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking
- ShuttleCraft Academy is a smoke-free and drug-free zone. Smoking, the use of alcohol, or any illegal substances is strictly prohibited on or near academy premises.
Consequences of Misconduct
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in the following actions:
- Verbal warnings or reminders from the coach or academy staff.
- Temporary suspension from training or academy activities.
- Permanent expulsion from ShuttleCraft Academy in cases of severe or repeated misconduct.
Acknowledgment
By participating in any program at ShuttleCraft Academy, whether as a student, parent, or coach, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
SHUTTLECRAFT ACADEMY LIABILITY WAIVER
In consideration of my involvement with ShuttleCraft Academy, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk
I understand that by engaging in physical activities, including but not limited to the use of badminton courts, exercise machines, free weights, training sessions, and lessons, I am exposing myself to potential risks of injury. These may include, but are not limited to, paralysis, dismemberment, disability, and death. While particular rules of sport, equipment usage, and training may reduce these risks, I recognize that they still exist, as well as the possibility of damage to or loss of personal property. -
Voluntary Assumption of Risk
I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of others involved with ShuttleCraft Academy, including coaches, staff, or participants. -
Compliance with Rules and Reporting Hazards
I agree to follow all rules and conditions for participation at ShuttleCraft Academy. If I observe any unusual or unnecessary hazards during my participation, or if I feel unprepared or unsafe to continue, I will immediately report these concerns to the nearest official or staff member and refrain from participating until the issue is addressed. -
Release of Liability and Hold Harmless
I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, hold harmless, and promise not to sue ShuttleCraft Academy, its staff, committee members, volunteers, agents, sponsors, officers, or affiliates (“Releases”) from any and all claims, injuries, and losses arising from my participation in activities at ShuttleCraft Academy. This release includes any injuries or damages caused by negligence, the condition of the premises, or other factors, except in cases of gross negligence or wanton misconduct, to the fullest extent permitted by law. -
Compliance with Rules and Eligibility
I agree to adhere to the rules and regulations of ShuttleCraft Academy and Badminton Australia. I confirm that I am eligible to participate in the events I am applying for and understand that ShuttleCraft Academy makes no representations or warranties about the condition of the premises or the operation of any event. -
Media Release
I grant ShuttleCraft Academy, its sponsors, contractors, affiliates, and licensees, including photographers, television and motion picture companies, the full rights to film, record, and photograph me during matches, interviews, and events. I give permission for these materials to be used for commercial, promotional, or other purposes, without compensation or remuneration of any kind to me.
Acknowledgment of Understanding
I have read and fully understand the terms of this Liability Waiver and Release Agreement. I acknowledge that by signing this document, I am voluntarily waiving substantial rights, including the right to file a lawsuit. I sign this agreement freely and voluntarily without any inducement.
