Seacombe Tigers – Day 1 Recap Berri Masters Tournament
After a long drive, some quick stretches, and a few “where’s my glove?” moments, the Seacombe Tigers hit the diamond for a packed Day 1 featuring three games – plenty of action, big hits, slick plays, and a whole lot of laughs.

Game 1: Seacombe Tigers vs USC Final: Seacombe 1 - USC 6
The Tigers came out hot in the first inning with Thomas doing it all – pitching, fielding, and even taking his own flyball. Davidson and Ambagtsheer showed off their chemistry with a smooth shortstop-to-first play, and the defense kept USC honest early. At bat, the Tigers picked up a few quick singles and got one across the plate. But after a tight start (1–2 after the 1st), USC opened up with a 7-run third inning, prompting a mercy call. Offensively, Davidson’s bomb to left for 3 bags + home was the highlight of the game, followed by aggressive base running from Thomas and a couple of gritty at-bats.

Vibe Check: Don’t let the score fool you – the energy was high, the plays were slick, and the dugout was loud. First-game jitters shook off, and the Tigers were rolling into Game 2 with smiles and momentum.

Game 2: Seacombe Tigers vs Falcons Gold Final: Seacombe 5 - Falcons Gold 4 (Win!)
Game 2 brought the fireworks! Thomas led off with a 2-bagger to center, stole his way home, and got the Tigers on the board. Fogg, Daniels, Lapworth, and Ambagtsheer chipped in with clutch hits, capped off by Ambagtsheer's monster double to center that cleared the bases. In the field, Munroe pitched to Brennan and got support from the squad, including a slick double play from an infield fly and a tag out at home. Fogg was a rock in right field again with a solid grab. Despite a late push from the Falcons, the Tigers held strong and sealed the win 5–4. Lipsworth and Brennan made key base-running plays in the 3rd to help edge it out.

Vibe Check: Teamwork. Grit. Cheering from the bench. This was the kind of game you remember – a close one, decided by sharp defense and cool heads. Big win!

Game 3: Seacombe Tigers vs Hillbillies Final: Seacombe 4 - Hillbillies 15
The Hillbillies came in hot and kept the pressure on, but the Tigers didn’t back down. Thomas and Munroe kept the bases busy early, and in the 3rd inning, Davidson smashed a home run rocket down the left field line – the dugout exploded! Defensively, there were highlights: Tomkinson and Davidson shared a “team catch,” Munroe tracked down a fly in left, and Fogg and Daniels made smart outs late. Despite the loss, the Tigers kept swinging and never dropped their heads.

Vibe Check: Tough opponent, but the Tigers battled to the end.** Davidson’s dinger and Munroe’s no-man’s-land double were definite crowd-pleasers.
