Civilian Service Rifle (CSR) Instruction Weekend

Hosted by Sydney Colonial Muzzle-Loading Club (SCMLC)
In conjunction with NSW Muzzle Loading Association (NSWMLA)

Sydney Colonial Muzzle-Loading Club is pleased to host a Civilian Service Rifle (CSR) Instruction Weekend at our Sackville range, supported by the New South Wales Muzzle Loading Association (NSWMLA), with instructors and participants from the Lee Enfield Rifle Association Australia (LERAA).

This weekend is designed to introduce and develop shooters in the Civilian Service Rifle and Historic Service Rifle disciplines, covering both the practical shooting aspects and the correct range procedures used in competition.

What to expect

  • Overview of CSR / HSR disciplines and classes

  • Explanation of classifications and match structure

  • Correct Range Officer commands and procedures

  • Practical demonstrations and supervised shooting

  • Three-position shooting at 100 and 200 yards using Fig. 11 and Fig. 12 targets

Firearms & eligibility

  • The event is primarily focused on historic Enfield service rifles

  • Bolt-action centrefire rifles may also participate in separate classes

  • Both scoped and unscoped rifles of permitted calibres are welcome

  • Open to licensed shooters who meet club and range requirements

Safety & participation requirements

All participants must attend ready to participate, including:

  • Chamber flag

  • Rifle bag or slip

  • Sufficient ammunition for the weekend

This is an excellent opportunity for members interested in service rifle shooting, historic firearms, and structured competition disciplines to learn from experienced shooters and officials.
