On 21 June 2026, Sydney Amateurs will once again mark the passing of the Winter Solstice with a celebration of the sea as we look toward the coming of longer, warmer sailing days.

 

The BBQ will be primed and the bar ready for action, including with warming rum toddies.

 

There will be singers and musicians to entertain over our meal, and the night will end with rousing sea shanties from the renowned Forty Degrees South.

 

Between our bookend event, boats are invited to compete in the Skipper’s Sea Shanty Countdown for a fitting prize earned on the loudest applause. (Shanty sheet music will be available).
