The Sapphire Coast Runners are excited to announce the commencement of the 2026 Trail Series with a beautiful run or walk around the picturesque coastline of North Tura Beach and the Bournda National Park.
Again, the series will be conducted over four trail events, with our first event starting near the entrance to Widgeram Road (off Sapphire Coast Drive, Tura Beach) at 8am sharp on the 19th of April 2026.
For event 1, participants will choose to complete either the 6.5km or the 12.5km course (approx).
The event will have a timekeeper and the results will be recorded. Saying this however, a strong emphasis will be on participation. So, whether you want to walk or run over the shorter or the longer distance, the aim will be to get as many participants as possible to join in the experience of running or walking on some of our awesome local trails.
Both courses are 'out and back' courses, following a combination of fire trails and single tracks to the relevant turn around points. The 6.5km course includes Tura Head, whilst the 12.5km course includes Bournda Island and Tura Head.
There are no mandatory gear requirements for the event, However, you are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a mobile phone, compression bandage, personal medications, snack or anything else you feel you might need.
The aim will be to get everyone to check in at the event by 7.45am, allowing time for the safety brief.
There is plenty of parking at the entrance of Widgeram Rd. However, there are no toilet facilities at this venue, which you may want to factor in before arriving at 7.45am on the day. The nearest public toilet is at Woolworths, Tura Beach.
