G&T-ATHON

What is this about?

This July 2026, fellow locals and members of the Sapphire Coast Runners Glenn and Tammy Edmonds aim to complete a whopping 7 Marathons in 7 Days across 7 States/Territories for the incredible charity Bravehearts.

On the 29th of March, the G&T-athon is going to take place at the Berrambool Sporting Complex. The G&T-athon is a Sapphire Coast Runners inspired idea to help Glenn and Tammy raise the much-needed funds to not only lock in their place and their commitment to Bravehearts, but also to give the local community a chance to rally behind them to make a valuable contribution to the charity and their cause. The G&T-athon is a relay Marathon, run or walked over a 1km course by members of the community to raise funds in support of Glenn and Tammy and Bravehearts.

We would love as any people as possible to get behind these two extraordinary locals who are putting their bodies on the line for this exceptional charity.

 How can you help?

You can help by either running or walking a 1 km lap(s) as part of a relay marathon (42 laps) and donate $5 to Bravehearts for each lap (e.g. Complete 5 laps and donate $25)

The G&T-athon will be open from 7am - midday.

We will be giving away some prizes

  • Fastest lap
  • Nearest to the pin, closest to the time you nominate without wearing a watch
  • Most laps

What does it cost?

While there is no entry fee for this event(s), participants are asked to donate to Bravehearts (see below).

Do you have to register?

Yes, that makes it easier for us with logistics.

How do you Donate?

For every lap a person runs they are asked to donate $5 to Bravehearts either through the QR code on the flyer or through our publicity links (so it is registered against Glenn and Tammy). We will also have an Eftpos facility and a Cash tin for donations on the day.

Are we flexible with how much you would like to donate?

Of course, linking each lap to a $5 donation is just a way that we decided could link a relevant activity that most people can get involved in and maybe challenge themselves for this great cause. However, we are flexible with the amount you’d like to donate.

What if you can't complete all your nominated laps, can you still donate your pledged amount?

Of course. Whilst we take this opportunity to have a bit of fun and work on some fitness, we certainly don't want to lose sight of the main reason why we are there. If the body or the brain isn't feeling up to any laps or any more laps, the amount you've pledged can still be donated.

Can donations be made before the event?

Yes. If you're going to be completing some laps, just let us know at the event that you’ve already donated.

Can you run or walk with someone else?

Yes.

Can you do multiple laps?

Absolutely, indeed there's a prize for the most laps.

Do you have to complete the lap in a set time?

No. You complete your lap(s) at your own speed.

Can you pay Glenn or Tammy to do your lap?

Yes. Every hour, Glenn or Tammy will be ‘auctioned’ for a lap (or two). The highest bidder (as a donation of course) will get the pleasure of sitting in luxury whilst Glenn or Tammy does the lap(s) for you.

SAPPHIRE COAST COLOUR RUN

What is it and what does it involve?

The Sapphire Coast Colour Run is a fun, noncompetitive event where participants walk, jog, dance, or run through a preplanned route while being showered with vibrant coloured powder at designated stations. It’s designed to celebrate healthiness, happiness, and community spirit, making it a unique and enjoyable experience for all ages.

Where does the Colour Run fit into the G&T-athon?

The Sapphire Coast Colour Run will run in conjunction with the G&T-athon. The time period between 9am - 10am will be open to all Colour Run participants. All other times (i.e. 7am-12pm) will be for the relay marathon. From 9am, all participants will make their way around the 1km course (which diverges off the relay Marathon course at various segments) and get showered with the vibrant coloured powder at each of these designated stations. The re-routed course will include a few obstacles and fun stations to add to the spirit of the occasion. Colour runs usually travel around 5km and last approximately 30mins to an hour.

Does the Colour Run cost extra?

No, just $5 for each lap (as per the relay Marathon). For example, want to do 5 laps (5km) in the Colour Run = a $25 donation.

Do you need to nominate if you want to particiate in the colour run, how many laps you intend to do when you register?

Yes (e.g. 3 laps / Colour Run 9am - 10am).

Can I do both the Relay Marathon and the Colour Run?

Absolutely! If you want to start before the Colour Run or want to continue accumulating a few more laps after the Colour Run, just donate $5 for each lap. Between 9am-10am, you'll have the option to go through a colour station or around it.

Don't overthink it... Just register, come along and give your support. Who knows, you might get there and want to dig deep for this great cause, just like John Carpenter from Bega who last year really dug deep, grinding out over 42 laps, completing a whole Marathon and donating over $200 to Bravehearts! Unreal!
