Get ready for a day packed with laughs, adventure, sunshine, and community spirit at the Sandy Bay Sailing Club Fun Day! Whether you're a seasoned sailor, a curious beginner, or someone who just wants to enjoy a great day by the water, this event has something for everyone.
Kick off the morning from 10am with two hours of exciting land-based activities - from a high-energy scavenger hunt to our hilarious blindfolded rigging challenge. You’ll also have the chance to drop into our free “What to Expect at Nationals” session, perfect for sailors and families preparing for the major events, including our green fleeters.
Then fire up your appetite for an included BBQ lunch at midday - relax, refuel, and enjoy the best view in town. We might even see a very special Christmas visitor……
After lunch, the real on-water fun begins! Join in our playful races that guarantee big smiles: parent/child teams battling it out, cadets teaming up for relay chaos, wild “jump into a different boat” antics, backwards-sailing finishes, and windsurfers and kayaks splashing into the action. Activities will be decided on the day pending weather conditions, but we have plenty of options up our sleeves. No pressure, no seriousness - just pure fun!
And to top it all off, the SBSC Junior Committee has organised a cosy movie night to finish the day together.
It’s the perfect family-friendly event to celebrate our club community, try something new, and make great memories. Come along, bring your friends, and let’s make it a day to remember!
Registration fees to cover BBQ lunch and on water activities - FREE for registered SBSC Green Fleet sailors, $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
The day is open to members and non-members (including parents and siblings) with a free Sailpass HERE. Please enter your Australian Sailing or Sailpass number in the registration form.
