Hi [[FIRST_NAME]],

The season is now in full swing! With PJ's Super Series next weekend and sailing almost every day at the club there is plenty happening to suit all sailors.

MAJOR CLUB EVENTS

PJ’s Super Series at SBSC is nearly here!!!

Register now to be part of the biggest events of the Hobart off the beach sailing calendar – everything from Optimists, Sabots, International Cadets, 29ers, 49ers, ILCA, Sabres through to IQ Foils, WASZP’s and F18 Catamarans will be sailing across the weekend of 22-23 November.

The SBSC Canteen will be fully stocked and open both days with presentations to be held after racing on Sunday.

Are you a Green Fleet Sailor? We would love to welcome you to SBSC for PJ’s Super Series

·        We run a special Green Fleet course close to shore for our newest sailors, including an on-water coach to help all Green Fleet Sailors around the course.

·        Parents and carers are welcome to head out to watch on the Green Fleet Start Boat (i.e. our wonderful race officer’s yacht!).

·        If any sailors need to borrow one of the SBSC plastic Optis allow please indicate this within your registration.

Please register ASAP as this will help the Club plan for the event and organise the volunteers needed across the weekend.

See you all next weekend!

VOLUNTEERING @ SBSC

VOLUNTEER CALL OUT

A big part of being an SBSC Member is pitching in to help run things. We are still looking for help in three key areas.

Committee Work:

  • Risk Management and Compliance
  • Regatta/Event Planning
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Grant research & writing

Please email club secretary Sharon Archer (secretary@sandybaysailingclub.org.au) if you have skills to share.

Club Saturday Racing - On-water and off:

Every week we run racing for our amazing sailors. In order to do so, we need your help both out on the water and on shore or we can’t run racing. Please email volunteer coordinator Russell James (russintas@gmail.com) to find out where you can support or, if you know already, jump on and put your name next to some tasks on Dutyman

29er Nationals

This year we are hosting the 29er Nationals from the 3rd to the 9th of January.  We are looking for volunteers to assist, mainly on water, but we also have opportunities on land.  If you are available please email Jen Potter (jennifer.potter@ths.tas.gov.au).

SPONSORSHIP
  SPONSORS

SBSC SPONSORS

Given that this month we host PJ's Super Series Regatta, we thought it was fitting that our next sponsor to introduce should be Peter Johnson Ship Chandlers (PJ's).

PJ's have been a sponsor of Sandy Bay Sailing Club for too many years to count and also sponsor our major regatta every year.

Established in 1964 – Peter Johnston’s has remained an integral part of the Tasmanian boating scene. With the knowledge that we are staffed by experienced boaties to help with your product selection, we stock a huge range from which to choose, let us help with your next re-fit.

We still have room for more wonderful partners, though so if you are someone you know might be interested, please get in touch with committee member Shona Prior. Phone 0408004699 or email priorshona@gmail.com.  Our club prospectus is available HERE
