Optimist & Cadet Green Fleet Term 4 2026!

Green Fleet is for those sailors who have completed Tackers 2 or Cadet Learn to Sail and are ready for the next step in their Sailing journey. Green Fleet focuses on helping sailors get fast, improve technique, learn racing techqnies and, for Cadet sailors, work as a team. Our Coaching team provides a high level of support, guiding sailors along at their own pace while ensuring they build the important skillsets for safe, confident and fun sailing.

This year our Green Fleet programme includes not just training, but also three race days! Our race days include coach support so the sailors can get on-water feedback on their racecraft. This is also a great chance for Green Fleet parents to get involved and learn the key volunteer roles that support racing.

• Opti Sailors: We highly recommend you have your own fiberglass boat. The plastic Tackers boats are a little too slow for these sessions. If you need to borrow a fiberglass boat for a few sessions, we have a limited number club boats for hire. Contact admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au to inquire.
• Cadet Sailors: Bring your own boat if you have one, otherwise club boats are provided.

YOU MUST BE A SBSC MEMBER OR HOLD A SAILPASS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR TRAINING. This is essential for Insurance purposes. Please contact Emily for any questions regarding this via admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au, or on 0477117594.

• 31 October - Training
• 7 November - GF Race 2
• 14 November - Training
• (21 November is the PJs Super Series Regatta. There is GF racing that weekend, but it is not included in this package.)
• 28 November - Training
• 5 December - Training
• 19 Decemer - GF Race 3

Cost:

• SBSC Members: $329 per term (log-in to get rate)(If you are a NEW green fleet sailor and SBSC member you receive your first term 50% off. Please email admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au to receive your discount code.) 
• Non-Members (w/ Sailpass): $399 per term

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
