Ready to build confidence and take your sailing to the next level? Adult Learn to Sail – Part 2 is designed for sailors who have completed Start Sailing 1 or have some basic sailing experience and want to become more independent on the water.

Following the Australian Sailing Start Sailing 2 syllabus, this course focuses on improving boat handling skills, sailing more efficiently, and developing confidence in a wider range of conditions. You’ll learn through a mix of on-water coaching and practical tips, all in a supportive and fun environment.

What you’ll learn

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

• Sail upwind, downwind and reach with better control and speed

• Tack and gybe confidently and smoothly

• Improve sail trim and steering techniques

• Understand wind awareness and how to sail efficiently

• Perform capsize recovery (where applicable) and manage safety on the water

• Build confidence sailing independently and as part of a group

This course is perfect for adults who:

• Have completed Adult Learn to Sail Part 1 / Start Sailing 1, or

• Have sailed before and want to refresh skills and progress further

Course outcome

On completion, participants will be working towards achieving the Australian Sailing Start Sailing 2 certificate and will be ready to continue sailing socially or move into further skill development and racing pathways.

Course Overview
This course equips participants with boat rigging knowledge and sailing skills to sail a dinghy on their own.

Water confident, and the skills and knowledge gained in Start Sailing 1.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have completed Start Sailing 1 and are wanting to learn and continue to develop their fundamental sailing skills.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
