Club Dinghy Charter - 2026 29er Nationals
Fri 02 Jan 2026 00:00 - Fri 09 Jan 2026 00:00

Event information

This event is sold out.

Our club 29er is hull number 2196 - Barefoot Bandits (the Boat).

All sailors must be club members in order to charter the club boats.  This will be included in the charter fee if sailors are not already members.

Sailors wishing to charter the boat for nationals are advised to bring their own ropes, rigging, sails etc.  There are club condition sails, however, these aren't racing condition sails and have significant repairs.  The charter includes the hull, boom, mast, pole and aluminium foils. Use your own ropes, rigging, sails etc.

All dinghy charters must comply with the below policy.

Dinghy Charter Policy for members

By chartering a dinghy
from Sandy Bay Sailing Club Incorporated (SBSC) you agree the following:

1. To have the hired boat assessed by a club committee member immediately before and after the hire period.

2. To report any damage as soon as possible to SBSC.

3. To pay the insurance excess for any damage to the boat, or for the actual repairs in the event that the item is not covered by insurance.

4. To take excellent care of the boat during and after every use and return it to SBSC in similar, if not better, condition at the end of the rental period.

5. That the allocation of the Boat may be retracted at any time by the SBSC Committee.

6. You will not hold SBSC, its Officers or members responsible in respect to loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage to property that may be sustained by reason of their connection to the hired Boat.

7. That SBSC has arranged insurance for the hired Boat, including cover for Racing, however the Helm must be a member of SBSC.

8. That the boat is not for my exclusive use for the whole rental period. If the boat is required by SBSC for training and other purposes, and I am not using it, I will ensure it is made available.

9. The boat is not to be taken away from the SBSC without approval from the SBSC Committee.

10. The boat will only be used under supervised conditions, either by the parent/guardian or as part of SBSC organised training/racing.

The fees cover the boat, insurance, maintenance and storage and include GST. Boats will only be released to the hirer upon payment of the bond (if rental of more than one day) and the first day or month’s hire fee. Payment is then due at the end of each day or month rented. The bond will be returned at the end of the hire period less any fees for repairs or insurance excess.

The boat return checklist will be completed by a SBSC committee member after return of the Boat. Available HERE

Please ensure you contact admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au ASAP to ensure your booking is confirmed, and to organise a time for handover. If any issues occur with the boat during the hire, this also needs to be communicated to admin@sandybaysailingclub.org.au ASAP.
