Our Learn to Sail Cadets coursewill teach you the basics of sailing in a boat with another person. Run by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors, this beginner-level course follows the Australian Sailing Start Sailing 1 programme:
Learn how to rig and launch a boat
Practice tacking, steering, and stopping safely
Gain confidence through fun on-water activities
Develop teamwork and independence
Be supported every step of the way by experienced instructors
This course is designed for complete beginners and is the first step in Sandy Bay Sailing Club’s junior Cadet sailing pathway. Space is strictly limited to a maximum of 10 participants so register now and start your sailing adventure with us!

Course Overview
This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery.

Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
