The Australian Sailing Start Crewing Course is the aimed at people with little or no experience in sailing and is run over 12hrs. The participants will learn about sailing a small responsive keelboat with an emphasis on practical experience. With an Ratio of one instructor to 5 participants you will get plenty of time crewing and helming the boat. Cost $310 RYCV Members $340 Non Members.

When you enrol you will need an Australian Sailing number.  If you have not been involved with a sailing club in the past, and don't already have one, when you are asked for your AS number click the sign up link below to get one.  There is no charge to get an AS number.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Crewing completion certificate.
