Zone Championships 2026

When: 11th and 13th December 2026

Where: The Ridge Athletics Track, Barden Ridge

Who: athletes in the 7s -17s

Cost: $25 athlete entry fee and $25 family duty bond (via electroinc transfer)

Zone Championships is an opportunity for athletes in the 7s - 17s to compete for RWLAC in events against athletes from other centres (in our zone). The Zone Championships is the pathway for athletes in the 8s-17s to progress to Region Championships. Athletes in the 7s- 11s can enter a maximum of 4 events. Athletes in the 12s-17s can enter a maximum of 6 events.

Please note: 

• Each centre in our zone is only able to enter a maximum of 5 athletes per age group, per event. If more than 5 athletes in an age group nominate for each event, then the attendance along with the performance of each athlete will be taken into consideration when determining the 5 athletes who will participate in that event. We will be in contact if this happens to your athletes event. 
• The Committee requires that any athlete nominating to compete at Zone Championships must have competed in at least 60% of centre competition nights before the Zone Championships. Any athlete who does not meet this requirement will have their attendance reviewed by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will consider the attendance record along with other circumstances before making a decision on eligibility to compete at Zone Championships.
• In order for an athlete to participate for RWLAC at Zone. The family must have completed at least 2 of their 7 parent duties for the season at Kelso before Zone Championships. Failure to complete the 2 parent duties may result in your ahtlete's Zone entry being withdrawn. 
• Each family entering Zone must complete a parent duty (this is not counted towards the 7 parent duties at Kelso). Failure to complete a duty at Zone will result in the family bond not being returned and your athlete may not progress to the next stage (Region/State) OR not have their Zone entry accepted next season.
• Payment of the Zone entry and family bond will be via electronic transfer. Details to make payment are provided in the confirmation email after registering.
