State Relay - Expression of Interest (EOI)

Please complete this form to register your interest in being considered for selection for the RWLAC State Relay team. State Relays is a team based competition, with this in mind we ask you honour this with associated training times. Please note, that completing the EOI does not ensure automatic selection. If you are asking for consideration in a track team, please ensure you note the training days. Attendance at training by all members of a relay team is required to be eligible. This will ensure baton changes are as clean as possible.

Only athletes who have submitted an EOI will have their results reviewed by the Championships Officers. 

 

State Relay Trials -  Friday, 5 September 

Track team selection:

All athletes in attendance will have their 100m track results recorded (they are not used towards season results, only for the State Relay selection).  Only athletes who have completed an EOI will have their results considered for a track team.

Field team selection:

Athletes who have indicated they want to be considered for a field team will have the opportunity to record result in the selected event on Friday 5 September.  Only athletes who have submitted an EOI will have their field events results reviewed by the Championships Officers. 

What happens when EOI close?

All submitted EOI will be reviewed with the results for these athletes. The Championships Officers will determine if 1) there is enough interest to form a team and if so, then 2) review the individual results of all potential team members. Our focus is the athletes and their self esteem, this in mind any team entered needs to be competitive. 

What results will be reviewed?

The results from the State Relay Trials (5 September). Athletes who were with RWLAC in the 2024-25 season will have their PB's (from Kelso only) also used, with the stronger result being used. Athletes who are new to RWLAC this season will have their results from the Trials night (5 September) used.  

State Relay: Where: Blacktown International Sports Park When: 8-9 November (for 8s-12s) OR 15-17 November (for 13s-17s)

 

The EOI and results will be reviewed by our Championships Officers. Please note, that:

• only athletes who have completed the EOI will be considered for State Relay selection.
• simply having enough athletes complete an EOI will not guarantee selection on a team. It is important that all teams are competitive
• athletes who are unable to make training, especially those on the track team will not be considered. 
• any athlete selected will need to pay a $30 family bond to secure their place on the team. This will be returned after the athlete participates in the relay.
