The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron Academy’s Youth Keelboat Development Programis designed for sailors aged 14 – 18 years who have experience and competency in dinghy fleet racing or teams racing who are looking to complement and start the keelboat pathway developing the skills required to race effectively as part of a crew.
The focus of the program is on racing fundamentals in keelboats, helping sailors adapt their existing racing knowledge to a larger boat environment. Participants will learn how to work as a crew, understand key keelboat roles, and develop practical racing skills through structured on-water training.
Training Session Times : Saturday 2.30pm-5.30pm
Training Session Dates : 12 September, 17 October, 14 November, 21 November, 6 February, 13 February, 27 February, 6 March, 13 March and 27 March.
Mini Series Fleet Racing : 12.30pm - 430pm on the 24 October, 7 November, 28 November, 20 February, 20 March
Hardy Shield Regatta : 8th November 2026, 8.30am - 5.00pm
