SKATE AUSTRALIA 2024 MEMBERSHIP TERMS and CONDITIONS

By completing this member application and submitting payment you acknowledge and accept to comply with and abide by the terms and conditions of being a member of Skate Australia (“SA”). If the person completing this member application is under the age of eighteen (18) then a parent/guardian will be required to provide the following declarations on your behalf and by doing so will ensure that you always comply with the terms and conditions of membership.

Your membership is conditional on you ticking the box that confirms you have read and agreed to this statement.

Please read this document in full. It is important that you understand and agree to the terms of the Skate Australia membership application. By ticking the box, you are acknowledging that you have read, understand, and agree to these terms and conditions.

The following must be read carefully

  1. Upon submitting this membership application, you will become a member of Skate Australia (ABN 55 164 973 409) (SA). These terms and conditions (Terms), comprise a contract between you and SA which is necessary and reasonable for offering access to SA’s services, events, and facilities. You acknowledge that you will be bound by and agree to comply with such rules, terms and conditions as may be imposed by SA. You agree to follow any rules, policies and/or directions set by SA and you understand that if you fail to comply with any such rules or directions, you will not be permitted to access SA’s events, services, and offers and no refund will be given.
  2. In agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you make application for membership of SA with the club or group listed and declare that:
    1. You are eligible to participate in competition and events according to the constitution of Skate Australi
    2. You agree to abide by all rules and by-laws of Skate Australia, World Skate, and other affiliated bodies as amended from time to time; and
    3. You agree to abide by and comply with all policies issued and amended from time to time by Skate Australia and World Skate.
  3. Membership Season: SA 2024 membership season runs from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. The following membership categories are in place for the 2024 season:
    1. Competitive Member: Competing member (National, State, and Local Competitions)
    2. Associate Member: Non-Competing member (administration, official, referee)
    3. Development Member: Training and Social Activities – No competition
    4. Participation Member: Participation programming and activities
    5. Coaching Member
    6. Come and Try Participant
  4. Membership of SA is available to all individuals of all ages.
  5. Membership will not be finalized until:
    1. All online mandatory details have been completed
    2. Annual membership fee received in full
    3. All outstanding debts or disciplinary actions are resolved
    4. All mandatory documents such as Valid Working with Children Checks are uploaded with your membership.
  6. Membership Refund Policy: Individuals may request a refund if they are unable to compete / use their membership. The request for a refund must be sent to admin@skateaustralia.org.au. The following conditions apply when requesting a refund:
    1. A full refund of the SA membership fee, less a 10% administration fee (minimum of $5), will be issued upon receipt of a current medical certificate where:
      1. The request is received by Skate Australia within 30 days of membership registration being submitted
      2. All other conditions as per above have been met.
      3. Note: Skate Australia will issue refunds only for the relevant SA fees paid. Club and State Association fee refunds will be at their discretion and will need to be requested directly through the relevant person at the nominated organization.
    2. Event entries, education course and national team refund information can be discussed with the admin team at admin@skateaustralia.org.au
  7. Membership inclusions
    1. The SA membership for 2024 grants you access to events within you state association (and where relevant access to enter national and international events pending qualification).
    2. Insurance – SA membership provides you access to insurance cover for certain activities undertaken whilst engaging in our sports. For full details of inclusions and exclusions related to insurance, please see here
  8. In agreeing to the 2024 SA Membership terms and conditions, you will adhere to the following:
    1. All policies outlined on the SA website, including but not limited to: Skate Australia LTD Constitution, National Integrity Framework, Member Protection Policy, Child Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy
    2. All determinations and decisions made by SA regarding sport integrity matters.
  9. Membership Cancellation: Where you breach one or more of these Terms, including but not limited to the standards of behavior set out in Skate Australia policies listed above, SA may in its sole discretion, without otherwise limiting the rights available to it under these Terms or at law:
    1. Immediately upon written notice to you:
      1. Terminate your SA membership; or
      2. Suspend your SA membership for a period of up to three months, as otherwise determined by SA in its discretion.
    2. Issue a written warning to you.
    3. Prohibit your entry to, or immediately expel you from a SA event.
  10. If your membership is:
    1. Terminated by SA under clause 6(a)(i), you:
      1. Are liable to pay SA any outstanding fees owed
      2. Are not liable to pay any additional fees other than specified in (i) above; or
    2. Suspended by SA under clause 6(a)(ii), you will not have access to any of SAs events, facilities, or services for the duration of your suspension.
  11. You acknowledge and agree that in the event your SA membership is terminated by SA in accordance with clause 6, you release and indemnify SA in relation to any costs, expenses, actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands or damages arising directly or indirectly in relation to such termination.
  12. Change of Rules/Terms and Conditions: SA reserves the right to change, modify or update these Terms, any other rules and/ or terms and conditions relating to your membership. Any such changes will be made with reasonable notice and displayed on the SA website (www.skateaustralia.org.au).
  13. Risk warning and waiver: Your participation in SA sanctioned activities may involve risks which can result in personal injury, death, or property damage. Prior to undertaking any such recreational activity, you should ensure you are aware of all the risks involved, including those risks associated with any health condition you may have. By submitting this membership application, you acknowledge, agree, and understand that participation in the services provided by SA may involve risk. You agree and undertake any such risk voluntarily and at your own risk.
  14. You understand that at any SA event or endorsed activity, you may be photographed and/or videotaped by an authorized or endorsed representative of SA. You acknowledge and agree:
    1. That any images or likeness captured by SA are owned by SA and that they may be used by SA for promotional or other purposes without my further consent being necessary.
    2. That you consent to SA using your name, image, likeness, and performance in any SA events, at any time, by any form of media, to promote the event and SA.
    3. That SA is not responsible for those images or likenesses captured by persons who are not an official or endorsed representative of SA.
  15. You understand that your membership details are collected by SA for the purpose of conducting and creating your membership permitting you to enter Events conducted by SA including but not limited to identifying participants in an Event, recording results, communicating with you and other participants about Events and to assist SA in improving and marketing its goods and services.
  16. You understand that your membership details may be provided to third-party contractors for the purpose of data collection to improve Skate Australia services and programming. Data will be deidentified and stored securely.
  17. You understand that by supplying your e-mail address as part of this application that you consent to receive regular emails from SA to stay informed about events conducted by SA.
  18. You understand that your personal information is being collected by SA in compliance with the regulations set out in the Privacy Act 1988, as amended (“Privacy Act”), and the Australian Privacy Principles for the purpose of conducting and facilitating my membership of Skate Australia. You understand that if you choose not to share certain personal information that your membership application may be rejected at SA’s discretion. You understand that you can access, change, and update information SA has about you at any time by contacting SA, subject to the terms of the Privacy Act. You understand that SA will endeavor to respond to your request within 30 days, that SA may be contacted during normal working hours via email (admin@skateaustralia.org.au) and that SA will send me a full copy of the Privacy Policy should you require more information. You agree to the sharing of my personal information with SA and its insurers in relation to any incident or personal illness that has reasonable and direct relation to your membership and/or any event that you enter.
  19. Where you are responsible for and or cause any deliberate damage to property owned by SA, you agree to reimburse SA for the cost of the repair of, or the replacement of SA’s property and acknowledge that SA may terminate my membership.
  20. Acknowledge that your State Member and/or parent body may apply additional terms and conditions in relation to your registration, including, but not limited to the collection of further information.
  21. Where you provide your contact details, you agree that the information is current and accurate at the time of membership registration and will be updated by you as required within one (1) month of any change.

Declaration: Skate Australia LTD. (SA) has a duty of care to its members and to the public who interact with its employees, volunteers, members, and others involved with SA activities. As part of this duty of care and as a requirement of SA’s Member Protection Policy, SA must enquire into the background of those applying for, undertaking, or remaining in any work (paid or voluntary) that involves working with people under the age of 18 years. At SA’s discretion, we may require any member over the age of 18 to undertake a Working with Children Check. Therefore, we require all members to confirm the declaration below:

  • ‘I do not have any criminal convictions or findings of guilt for offences involving sexual activity, act of indecency, child pornography.’

  • ‘I do not have any criminal charge pending before the courts. I have not had any disciplinary abuse or child proceedings brought against me by an employer, sporting organisation or similar body involving child abuse, sexual misconduct, or harassment, acts of violence, intimidation, or other forms of harassment.’

I declare I agree to the above statements and comply with Skate Australia’s requirements for involvement in SA activities.

Skate Australia membership is a calendar year 1 January to 31 December.  All memberships expire on 31 December annually.


Skate South Australia

Please choose your membership category carefully. We do not give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision.

Any person seeking to obtain membership of SkateSA Inc.—whether as an athlete, coach, administrator or other person bound by our rules, by-laws, Member Protection Policy or other codes of conduct—be required to disclose any previous criminal or disciplinary offence that could impact upon your ability to operate within the sport, or which the organisation may deem relevant in meeting your duty of care to athletes, and in particular athletes under 18 years of age.

‘All members must be aware that these disclosure obligations relating to adverse criminal and disciplinary offences are ongoing’.

Important Note.

Anyone returning to the sport from an injury that required medical treatment and insurance claim MUST get a fitness to return to participation by the treating doctor i.e. registered medical practitioner (submit to state Office skatesa@skateaustralia.org.au and Club Official) before you step onto skates. 


Rockabellas Roller Derby League

Rockabellas Roller Derby League (RRDL)

Code of Conduct

Throughout this document, the word "Skaters" shall be taken to mean any and all RRDL (known as Rockabellas Roller Derby League) members who are on skates, or who would normally be on skates, including but not limited to players, referees, coaches, off-skate officials and volunteers unless otherwise specified.

General Code of Behaviour

1.      Skaters must support a Safe Environment at all times. This includes:

  •  Supplying your own skates and protective gear, including but not limited to knee and elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guard and helmet. All gear must be appropriate to the sport, in good working order and must not pose a threat or risk to any other skater. All protective equipment must be worn correctly at all training sessions, scrimmages, and bouts.
  • All Skates must be rink-safe, meaning that their use must not gash, indent or blemish the skating surface or any other surface, and that the skates will not cause injury to property or persons.
  • Supplying correct and relevant personal and contact information.
  •  Reading the Constitution, signing the Code of Conduct 
  • Bringing to the nearest Skater, Referee or Non Skating Official's immediate attention any unusual or significant hazard in the skater's presence or participation. 
  • Skaters are discouraged from wearing clothing to training, scrimmages or bouts that may be hazardous to the safety of other skaters or spectators. This can include but is not limited to studded belts, collars, other jewellery that may break through skin, etc. It is strongly encouraged that piercings and other body modifications that protrude from the skin and may become caught on clothing be removed or covered with tape to reduce the risk of having the piercing dislodged. 
  • Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not smoking in the skating area or being intoxicated.
  • Skaters must have a Strong Team Ethos and must demonstrate good sporting behaviour at all times. a. Excessive violent and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Play by the rules. Never argue with a Non Skating Official or Referee. If you disagree, ask your Team captain to deal with the matter.
  • Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other athletes, or deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent, is not acceptable or permitted in our sport.
  • Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player.
  • Co-operate with your coaches, team mates and all other participants. Without them there would be no competition.
  • Participate in Roller Derby for the sport, not for the spectacle and drama of the bouts.
  • Discuss questions, concerns and problems openly and rationally.
  • For any training sessions, scrimmages or bouts, Skaters must arrive ready to participate at their fullest potential. Skaters under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or with hangovers or sleep deprivation, will be considered a danger to others and thus unfit to participate.

2.   Skaters must resign from Rockabellas Roller Derby, if they are intending to "try out" for any other league. 

3. Rockabellas Roller Derby, must always create a Welcoming and Supportive environment for every member. a. Treat everyone with respect and do not discriminate. b. Each new Skater, Coach, Trainer and Volunteer must be given a fair go and the encouragement they need. c. Injured or inexperienced Skaters must be given opportunities to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable with and the person in charge considers appropriate and safe. d. Minor injured Skaters must have approval from Head Trainer to participate at training. e. Skaters returning from a major injury must have a doctor's clearance. 
 
4. All Skaters, including Referees must meet the WFTDA Minimum Skills Requirements and have passed a Written or Verbal WFfDA Rules Test before they are Bout Ready. a. Skaters must be willing to take directions/suggestions from coaches and trainers about skills and game rules. b. Skaters must also make an effort to learn new skills and be committed to improving themselves as athletes and team mates. 
 

5. Skaters are required to make Attendance at training, competitions and any mandatory meetings, and to pay Dues and Fees at the current rate and within terms, as advised by the Treasury Committee. a. Skaters are required to attend a minimum of six derby training sessions per calendar month. b. Skaters are strongly encouraged to join league sub-committees (e.g. Training, Sponsorship, Admin, Merchandise, Events, Treasury, Promotions & Marketing or Skater Rep) and to participate in other league projects, such as promotional or charity events. c. Skaters are also encouraged to attend other non-derby practises arranged and/or endorsed by the league, such as learn-to-skate classes. 
 
6. If they desire, Skaters, Referees and Non-Skating Officials may choose a Derby Name and persona that is not already taken, is not offensive and does not reflect poorly on Rockabellas Roller Derby,  

  • a. Skaters must understand that derby names are a privilege, not a right.
  • b. This privilege can be earned through demonstrating commitment to the league by consistent attendance at training and bouts, supporting the running of the league off-skates (e.g. fundraising, publicity).
  • c. If a Skater leaves Rockabellas Roller Derby, and will not be continuing on with another league their Derby Name must be removed from the Twoevils Roster.

7. Skaters must understand and agree to abide by the Three Strikes Policy as outlined below: a. Skaters who exhibit inappropriate behaviour (as outlined in this Code of Conduct and the Constitution) shall be given an official warning by the Grievance Officer Committee. b. Skaters shall receive two (2) warnings in total; the first warning may be verbal, the second and warning shall be in writing. Upon receipt of the second warning, the Skater will be asked to appear at a General Meeting of Rockabellas Roller Derby,, where their conduct will be discussed. As with all meetings, any and all members of Rockabellas Roller Derby, may attend and shall be given the opportunity to present evidence for or against the misconduct. c. Where there is not a clear consensus for the expulsion or retention of the Skater from Rockabellas Roller Derby, a vote of all attending members at the meeting shall be taken. This vote shall determine if the Skater is expelled. d. If the motion is passed and the Skater is removed from Rockabellas Roller Derby, they shall be asked to relinquish any title or position held and shall not be allowed to attend any further training sessions, bouts, meetings, events, etc. 


Committee / Board Members' Code of Behaviour

8. Involve members in the planning, leadership, decision-making and evaluation processes

9. Ensure that equal opportunities for participation in sports are made available to all members, regardless of age, ability, size or any other factor addressed in Rockabellas Roller Derby Harassment Policy and all relevant State/Federal laws.

10. Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and appropriate for the ability level of participating members.

11. Ensure that adequate supervision is provided by qualified and competent Coaches and Trainers capable of developing appropriate positive behaviour and skill technique.

12. Avoid allowing events to become primarily spectator entertainment. Focus on 'sport over spectacle'.

13. Distribute and enforce the Code of Conduct regarding Skaters, Non Skating Officials, and Referees, Spectators, Coaches and the media.

14. Encourage Skaters to realise their potential and athletic abilities. related to Rockabellas Roller Derby. 
 
Non Skating Officials' Code of Behaviour

15. Compliment all Skaters on their efforts. Be supportive to all skaters and show acknowledgement to all skat- ers' efforts

16. Be consistent, objective and courteous in calling all infractions.

17. Condemn unsporting behaviour and promote respect for all opponents.

18. Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate.

19. Ensure that your behaviour is consistent with the principles of good sporting behaviour. Actions speak louder than words.

20. Make a personal commitment to keep yourself informed of sound officiating principles. 
 
Spectators' Code of Behaviour This must be displayed at all family/ friends and public bouts

21. Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not harassing Skaters, Coaches or Referees and Non Skating Officials, smoking in the skating area or being intoxicated.

22. Spectators (patrons on the premises as a result of any participant's involvement in the activity) must behave in a respectful manner to both persons and property. Behaviour which could potentially lead to intentional or unintentional bodily injury or damage to property will not be tolerated. 
Coaches' Code of Behaviour

23. Be reasonable in your demands on Skaters' time, energy and enthusiasm.

24. Teach Skaters that the rules of the  sport are mutual agreements,  which no one should break. Make skaters aware that the rules of the sport are wftda rules and not made by yourself nor the league.

25. Whenever possible, group Skaters of similar skill level to give a reasonable chance of success. Whenever nessesary, provide all skaters if they are not at the same skill level as others, the opportu- nities to develop better skills.

26. Avoid over-coaching the better performing Skaters; the "average" Skater's need and deserve equal time. Defer from over-coaching certain individuals or groups that are better performing skaters as every skater must be provided equal training time.

27. Remember that Skater's participate for fun and enjoyment and that winning is only part of the enjoyment. Never ridicule or yell at a team for making mistakes or losing an event.

28. Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate.

29. Develop respect for the abilities of opponents as well as for the judgements of Referees and Non Skating Officials.

30. Follow the advice of a doctor in determining when an injured Skater is ready to recommence training or competition.

31. Make a personal commitment to keep yourself informed of sound coaching principles.

32. Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not harassing athletes, other coaches or officials, smoking in the skating area or being intoxicated. 
 
Code of Health Behaviour Rockabellas Roller Derby understand the harmful effects of smoking, drugs and alcohol on health, fitness and performance in sport, and as a result has adopted the following Code of Health Behaviour:

33. Skaters must remove themselves from the track and immediately seek First-Aid treatmentfor any cut or injury that is bleeding. The bleeding must stop and the cut or injury covedbefore the Skater is allowed to re- turn to the track. 
 
34. Skaters must not bite or spit whilst on the track. 
 
35. Skaters must control and contain their bodily fluids whilst on the track including saliva, blood and mucous.

36. Skaters are reminded that smoking adversely affects performances and are prohibited from smoking during competitions, trainings, warm-ups, and warm-downs.

37. Skaters are prohibited from participating in training, scrimmages, bouts, or any other public appearances under the effects of alcohol or any illegal drugs. 

38. Coaches, Non Skating Officials, Referees and Skaters are reminded of their responsibilities as "role models", particularly with respect to junior fans, and are asked to refrain from smoking, taking drugs or becoming drunk whilst associated with our sport, especially when in uniform and/or at official functions and events.

39. Premises and playing areas should be declared "Smoke Free Zones" - smoking is permitted only where a special smoking area is designated.

40. Visiting Skaters, Coaches, Referees and Non Skating Officials are also asked to respect our Codes of Behaviour.

41. Spectators are reminded that smoking is inappropriate behaviour in a sporting environment and are asked to respect our sport Code of Behaviour. 


Media Code Rockabellas Roller Derby's strategy for managing media, publicity and promotions is detailed in the Media Policy. In brief:

42. Skaters, Referees, Non Skating Officials, Coaches and Venue Managers must not make public comments concerning Rockabellas Roller Derby, or any team that falls under RRDL Roller Derby, without the permission of the Promotions and Marketing Committee.

43. Skaters, Referees, Non Skating Officials, Coaches or Venue Managers wishing to make public comment or participate in publicity featuring RRDL Roller Derby or any particular RRDL Roller Derby 'individual' or 'team' must seek permission from the Promotions and Marketing Committee.

44. If public comment is made without the permission of the Promotions and Marketing Committee, disciplinary action may be taken in accordance with the Three Strikes Policy.

45. RRDL Roller Derby members must not make any public comments whatsoever concerning any aspect of a RRDL Roller Derby Grievance Process, either before or after a mediation or hearing, even if the member is personally involved. (Refer to the Grievance Resolution Procedure.) 
 
Harassment Policy 
 
RRDL Roller Derby are committed to providing Skaters with an environment free from intimidation, threat, offence and humiliation. Everybody should feel free and comfortable   while involved in our activities and certain that any differences are respected. To provide this, we must be free from all types of harassment or any behaviour that is unwanted by another person. To meet this commitment, all league members and associates will be guided by this policy and others of the organisation, such as the Codes of Behaviour and Mission Statement, and any relevant federal and state legislation such as the Sex Discrimination Act, Racial Discrimination Act and South Australia Equal Opportunity Act and by the implementation of proper grievance handling practices. Harassment, bullying and vilification are not and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Harassment is a form of discrimination. Harassment includes any behaviour - whether verbal, non-verbal or written - that is unwelcome, uninvited or unreciprocated, and that a reasonable person, having regard to all circumstances, would understand as being offensive, humiliating or intimidating. It is against the law if the discriminatory behaviour is based on a person's race or colour; 
;national or ethnic origin; sex, pregnancy or marital status; gender history; age; disability, impairment or illness (including HIV/AIDS status); religious or political conviction; sexual preference; and/or that of any of their friends or associates. Bullying refers to the repeated less-favourable treatment of one person by another or others within RRDL Roller Derby that may be considered unreasonable and inappropriate sporting or social conduct, either in person or on online. Bullying is behaviour that intimidates, degrades or humiliates. This may include physical abuse, mobbing, verbal abuse (such as taunting, yelling or screaming, name-calling and offensive language), psychological harassment, excluding or isolating someone, assigning someone meaningless and irrelevant tasks or impossible tasks, etc. Vilification is the incitement of hatred, serious contempt or severe ridicule of a person or group of people on the ground of an attribute such as race, sex and so forth. Vilification is unlawful. Note: Harassment, bullying and vilification need not be verbal and need not be done in the direct presence of the target to be deemed to have occurred. Methods can include emails and online postings, phone calls and SMS text messages, pictures, graffiti, gestures, exclusion of a person, interfering with a person's equipment or property, gossiping or  spreading rumours, etc. Skaters and associates should feel confident to complain about harassment, bullying and vilification without any reservations. No individual will be victimised for speaking out about or against harassment in RRDL Roller Derby. All cases will be taken seriously and investigated and incidents will be dealt with quickly, fairly, impartially and confidentially. If serious enough, legal action may be taken against an individual who is found to have harassed or vilified another person. RRDL Roller Derby have appointed a Grievance Officer Committee for members to notify with their concerns. The Grievance Officer Committee must deal with the matter in accordance with RRDL Roller Derby Grievance Resolution Procedure and a complainant, respondent or other involved party is always afforded their right to appeal in accordance with the Procedure. RRDL Roller Derby takes harassment matters seriously and those found in violation of the Harassment Policy may face disciplinary action or expulsion. RRDL Roller Derby may take similarly strong action in the case of false accusations. In general, members of RRDL Roller Derby should work towards portraying the club in a positive light. Be yourself, be unique, but please be mindful that your actions when engaged in Roller Derby or an affiliated event will reflect on RRDL Roller Derby as a whole. As stated in the Mission Statement, our aim is to promote the sport over the spectacle and to be portrayed to the public as doing such.

Any skater found violating this Code of Conduct will have their membership reviewed by the Grievance Officer Committee and Committee Representative Group and action, such as a formal warning or expulsion without refund of dues paid, may be taken. 


STATEMENT OF POLICY 
Sexual harassment is unlawful. Rockabellas Roller Derby League does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form. Every volunteer, member, supervisor & visitor has a responsibility to ensure that sexual harassment does not occur. 
 
Anyone found to have sexually harassed another person will be subject to disciplinary action that may include an apology, counseling, transfer of duties or dismissal. 
 
Reports of sexual harassment will be treated promptly, seriously & confidentially. Complainants have the right to determine how a complaint will be treated. They also have the right to have a supporter or representative chosen by them involved in the process and the option to stop the process at any time. 
 
The alleged harasser also has the right to have a supporter or representative chosen by them present when She/he responds to the allegations made. 
 
No volunteer, member, supervisor will be treated unfairly as a result of making a complaint of sexual harassment. Immediate disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who victimizes or retaliates against some- one who has made a complaint of sexual harassment. This also stands that the person whom the complaint is made against will not be subject to victimization or harassment before, during or after the grievance process if finalized. 
 
The league will afford natural justice to any person involved in the dispute. 
 
 DEFINITION OF SEXUAL HARRASSMENT 
 
Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that could be reasonably expected to make someone feel offended, humiliated or intimidated. This may include: An unwelcome sexual advance. A request for sexual favours. Unwelcome comments about someone's sex life or physical appearance. Leering or ogling. Sexually offensive comments, stories or jokes. Displaying sexual offensive photos, pinups or calendars, reading matter or objects. Sexual propositions or continues requests for dates. Physical contact such as touching, fondling or unnecessary brushing up against someone. (bearing in mind that this is a full contact sport that some touching and brushing up against each other will occur during the participation of the sport). Indecent assault or rape. This also includes any contact made through technology, phone, social media etc, that includes sexual advances or discussions. 

ANTI-GOSSIP POLICY (SEPTEMBER 2014) ROCKABELLAS ROLLER DERBY LEAGUE INC 
 
Gossip is defined as any conversation about another in which you lack first-hand knowledge or a conversation about another individual/group, conducted in his/her absence. Gossip can be a destructive force in a sporting or work environment and can undermine productivity, creativity & sportsmanship and can create animosity amongst team members & co-workers. As such ROCKABELLAS ROLLER DERBY LEAGUE INC, maintains a NO Gossip policy. Discussions and comments involving a team member or board members are to be limited to their presences, the only exceptions are the occasions when a team member or a board member is being reviewed in a supervisory capacity or the information being shared is of a completely positive nature. Discussions about other members' personal lives is not appropriate & any discussions outside of hours of training that affects members within the league is also inappropriate. Rockabellas Roller derby league Inc, is committed to building a positive & safe environment for all those who participate, skaters, referees, NSOs, volunteers, spectators & visiting leagues. Failure to comply with this policy will result in immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination of membership. As per stated in the grievance procedure outlined within the Rockabellas Code of Conduct & Rockabellas Constitution.
