Event Waiver

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the racing entirely at their own risk.

It is the competitors’ decision to enter the Event or to start and continue in any race. Competitors shall accept that their participation in the Event is at their exclusive risk in every aspect. By way of entry in the Event competitors must indemnify the Organising Authority their Offices, members, staff, volunteers and agents in respect to all claims and demands of whatever nature which may be made upon them in connection with or howsoever arising from their participation or intended participation in the Event.

Competitors are responsible for the seaworthiness of the boat that they are sailing and for the sufficiency and adequacy of it equipment for the prevailing conditions.

The Organising Authority their offices, members, staff, volunteers and agents accept no responsibility in respect to loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage of property which may be sustained by reason of their participation or intended participation in the Event howsoever arising in connection with the Event.

Competitor attention is drawn to RRS 4 – Decision to race.

INSURANCE

Vessels shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10,000,000 per event or equivalent. It is also recommended that vessels shall be insured with comprehensive cover for racing.

The organising authority may request a copy of the Certificate of Currency
