Discover the joy of Hansa sailing in this introductory course, designed for beginners who want to experience sailing in a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment. This course offers a fun and engaging introduction to sailing while building confidence on the water.
Each registration includes one place in a Hansa 303 for a participant and their support person, allowing you to learn to sail together. Participants should feel comfortable being on the water.
Sailing is guided by experienced instructors alongside Sailability WA volunteers, ensuring a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning experience.

The Hansa Liberty is designed for more experienced sailors who are ready to sail independently, offering a more advanced and self-directed sailing experience.
If you would like to learn to sail solo in a Liberty, please let us know what assistance you require to get into and out of the boat (e.g. hoist or other support).
Participants will:
Learn fundamental sailing skills specific to Hansa boats
Become familiar with sailing terminology, equipment, and basic boat handling
Practise essential skills including launching and returning to shore, tacking, and gybing
Participants must be confident in the water
This course is ideal for anyone keen to begin sailing in Hansa boats. All equipment and safety gear are provided by Royal Perth Yacht Club in partnership with Sailability WA.
