Weather had won the “rain” league over the last couple months postponing this decider round not once, but twice! The build up in Pro class could not have been greater with the prize of return air flights to Korea, accommodation and entry to the International Drone Sports Competition in Yeongwol, Korea on Oct 27th to 29th with fellow state winners from around the country in the FPVR.org Winter Season.

We apologize to all pilots as the usually “results” photos were absentmindedly forgotten due to the larger Season Leader-board results of the day.

The nerves were clearly a factor as early on challenging discussions during walk through proved. Practice heats ran well on the “onfield only reveal of the track” due to the high stakes. The atmosphere of competition was seen in the jittery thumbs, and biting of nails in Pilot class with the days winner taking home an X-Bee 4” Frame courtesy of club pilot Cody “steel”. Current season leader James “wafflefpv”, who has so gracefully passed on rights to the trip to Korea due to his final year studies, a sign of his unwavering motivation to do better.

Pilot Class: Through the heats Lockie was a solid contender for a top of the season finish with Acquado absent from the all important decider. TwistDC and fantum plagued with video issues caused upset to their rhythm, with death match for finals placing between Mitch “fantum”, Rob “stoj”, Robin “frosty” and Lockie “Lockie”. The youngest pilot Mitch “fantum” was knocked out with “stoj” the victor but found it hard to be race ready during the finals not helping his usual steady hand. Robin “frosty” Winter and showed astonishing smooth lines making for great viewing and Lockie “lockie” with his speedy agility fought against Terrence “T” who was also having a positive day. The finals found “Stoj” taking out 4th place, Robin “frosty” though consistent wasn’t fast enough to catch Terrence “T” who took out top honors.

1st Place: Terrence “T” Byron (Wins X-Bee 4 Inch Frame)
2nd Place: Robin “frosty” Winter
3rd Place: Lockie “lockie” Loxton
4th Place: Rob “stoj” Stojanovic

Pro Class: Heats were really HEATS in Pro class as only 5 points separated the 2nd place in the leader-board and the winner of the trip to Korea. It was smartly implemented to have two spotters for each pilot due to the closeness and value for each valuable point to feed that leader-board
The Pro heats saw some unusual crash outs by WaffleFPV, Macka, Wisdom and Shufty fought it out for finals positions and despite Macka’s early season dominance simple errors cost him his finals spot. Steel took 1st place in his first heat which helped to get him into the finals. Shufty and Wisdom also made it. However Kreeky and Ddub could not find the consistency needed for a finals berth.

With WaffleFPV, Steel, Shufty and Wisdom in the finals, Shufty suffered some racing bumps and an issue with lock nuts leaving him last in the finals and out of contention for Korea. WaffleFPV just wasn’t quick enough for Wisdom who continues a stellar rise during the season. Steel took out third place while Wisdoms 1st place for the day secured his 2nd placing for the season and a trip to Korea
.
1st Place: Owen “Wisdom” Littleton
2nd Place: James “WaffleFPV” Basell
3rd Place: Cody “steel” Steel
4th Place: Evan “shufty” Leipold

Thanks to Jayde on the Canteen, Waffle Snr for watching the BBQ again, Cody for the frame prize and everyone else that attended on time to make it a great event. Once again well done to waffleFPV for passing on his prize you're a true champion.

See you all for Summer Season kick off on 8th October!
