Race Sign-On and Sign-Off Procedures:
For each race session, skippers intending to race must "sign on" at the Regatta Office before leaving the beach. Additionally, skippers must "sign on" again by passing behind the committee boat on the water before the first race of the day. Failure to sign on before departing the beach and before racing will result in disqualification from the first race of the day.
Upon returning to the club, "signing off" is mandatory. Sign-off documents will be available at the wet bar. Failure to sign off when returning to the club will result in disqualification from the last race.
Thank you for your cooperation.
If you don’t have all of these sorted, please get in touch with our Boating Department before your session.
Please arrive a little early to get settled and briefed before hitting the water. If you have any questions or need further info, just give us a shout.
Important information: Please note that our sailing academy does not offer refunds. However, we are committed to flexibility with cancellations and will work with you to find the best solution for rescheduling your racing session.
In the event of adverse weather conditions or low attendance, the race officer reserves the right to cancel the race. Should this occur, you will receive a cancellation notice via email and/or SMS as soon as the decision is made. Given the unpredictable nature of Melbourne’s weather, cancellations may sometimes be announced on the day of the regatta. We therefore advise you to check your email and/or SMS before heading to the venue.
If your session is cancelled, we will offer you an alternative booking.
Thank you for your understanding.
Looking forward to seeing you out there, may the wind be with you!
Cheers,
OTB Dinghy team
