Adult Dinghy Level 1 introduces participants to dinghy sailing and basic sailing knowledge around what makes a boat go. The course is run using 2-handed Pacer dinghies, although we may switch into RS21 keelboats if the weather is more suited to a larger boat. Participants should be reasonbly agile and happy to get wet!  RGYC strictly abides to the Australian Sailing instructor/student ratios - places are limited so we recommend registering early to avoid disappointment. 

Dates: Saturdays, October 10th to November 7th .  NO SESSION OCTOBER 24TH.
Time: 9am to 12pm.

Cost: $380  

Member Discount: RGYC Members, and children or grandchildren of members, are eligible for a 10% discount on all RGYC sailing courses. Please contact the Sailing Office via sailing@rgyc.com.au to obtain a discount code.

Complimentary Club Membership: Completion of this course qualifies the participant to a one-time, three month academy membership at RGYC, commencing from the course completion date. Membership gives a 10% discount on any subsequent course booked during the complimentary period. This offer excludes Discover Sailing experiences, powerboat programs and coaching courses, and is only available to individuals who have not previously been a member of Royal Geelong Yacht Club.

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
