Out There Sailing is designed for teens! Whilst the focus will be on dinghy sailing, participants will also get to experience (subject to weather) other water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. This course is all about teens getting together and having lots of fun in, on and around the water, supervised by Australian Sailing-qualified instructors. RGYC strictly abides by the Australian Sailing instructor/student ratios - places are therefore limited so we recommend registering early to avoid disappointment.

Please note, we have Out There Sailing scheduled for both weeks of the holidays. Numbers may dictate we can only run one week, so flexibilty is recommended where possible!

Member Discount: RGYC Members, and children or grandchildren of members, are eligible for a 10% discount on all RGYC sailing courses. Please contact the Sailing Office via sailing@rgyc.com.au to obtain a discount code.

Complimentary Club Membership: Completion of this course qualifies the participant to a one-time, three month academy membership at RGYC, commencing from the course completion date. Membership gives a 10% discount on any subsequent course booked during the complimentary period. This offer excludes Discover Sailing experiences, powerboat programs and coaching courses, and is only available to individuals who have not previously been a member of Royal Geelong Yacht Club.

Registering:  If your teen is new to sailing you will need to generate an Australian Sailing Number as part of the registration process. Simply click "Sign Up" to create a free Australian Sailing membership.

Overview

This is an OutThere Sailing combined course (a combination of OutThere Sailing 1, 2, 3). The combined course enables individual progression accross its duration, whilst allowing friends to remain together.

OutThere Sailing will always be about fun, social engagement and safety.

Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old looking to try a new activity, have some fun and engage with others whilst sailing.

Course Outcome

By the end of the OutThere Sailing combined course, the participants will achieve the standards of either OutThere Sailing 1, 2, or 3 and have had a lot of FUN with friends!
