There is a late fee of $60 for any registrations after 23rd July.

Course Overview

This course is aimed at children aged 13-18 years old and builds foundational skills essential for sailing in a crewed boat. Youth Challenge  encourages a love for sailing with others, teamwork skills activities and other activities in and around the water.

Course Prerequisites

• Water confident
• 13-18 years-old.

What you need.

Clothing for average or cool weather sailing.

Wetsuit(buy online second had on Facebook Marketplace or gumtree)

Wetsuit boots(surf shop or above)

Hat (or beanie in cold weather)

*Thermal underwear top - (polypropylene) thin long sleeve top you can buy in any outdoor hiking/snowsports shop.

Light weight Water proof jacket.

 

Clothing for hot weather sailing.(26-36 degrees)

Shorts.

Wetsuit boots.

hat.

Rash top long sleeves to protect against sun burn. (Buy at any surf shop)

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have done Tackers 1 or two and wish to have fun and learn the basics of sailing through games and drills the water.

Once sailors can confidently demonstrate the above competencies they can move up to our Youth Development Squad which competes in the Stonehaven Cup in the first week of January.
