Course Prerequisites

• 2023/2024 season RBYC Member $107 pa (compulsory for club programs and invoiced after enrollment)
• Water confident
• 7-12 years-old
• Skills, knowledge and experience gained in Tackers 3 or equilvant sailing 
• Sailors are encouraged to have their own boat - contact the office for assistance in where to start looking!

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have completed Tackers  3 and are looking to continue their sailing journey beyond the learn to sail programs.

What about a boat?

You can hire of one of the RBYC optimits if you do not have one of your own ($300 pa).

Course Outcome

Unlike the tackers program, Green Fleet is designed to facilitate ongoing learning and provide a more individualised progression pathway. Without the restrictions of tight curriculums and timelines, this group is designed to foster sailors into racing up to a state or nationally recognised "intermediate" level. Sailors do not pass or fail this course but rather continue to get support tailored to the demands of racing.

It is our aim that after a few sessions in green fleet, sailors will be competent enough to partake in the RBYC Sunday afternoon coaches racing and eventually brave enough to race as an RBYC race squad at regattas around the bay including the Green Fleet Victorian State Championships.
