Course Overview

This course is aimed at children aged 7-12 who have completed Tackers 2 or Junior Fun and Adventure. The program strives to continue to develop sailors boat handling and speed skills whilst beginning to introduce some more complex sailing concepts. By the end of the program, sailors will have learned the basics of racing and will hopefully be ready to start sailing racing Opti's in Green Fleet!  As always we strive to maintain a fun and encouraging learning environment both on and off the water!

Course Prerequisites

  • Water Confident
  • 7-12 years-old
  • Tackers 2, Junior Fun and Adventure, or a number of private lessons as agreed on with the sailing office.

Who should do this course?

Course Outcome

The completion checklist for Skills and Drills is:

  • Learn the start sequence
  • Understand how the sail works
